How To Spend Trading/Blogging Profits: My 7-Day $11,000 Trip To Japan
Posted by timothysykes on Tue 19th of Aug, 2008 03:24:28 PMBy now you guys know that I’m a workaholic who’s been steadily growing his biz so I can proudly say this blog made $45k last month (see detailed breakdown HERE)…and as I’ve been preparing you guys for the last few weeks, I’m taking a trip–business vacation as I’m gonna get some good content to write for AOL Blogging Stocks, this site (and wheoever else wants anything from me!)–with my girlfriend to Japan August 20-September 1st.
I’ll still be doing TIMalerts each and every day, don’t you worry, I’m an addict, but please don’t email me questions – actually only if they’re about TIMalerts or my PennyStocking DVD (biz first!) – cuz it’s gonna be hard enough trying to manage my vacation/trading while working with a 14 hour time difference.
So I thought you’d like to know exactly what I’m doing—I’m bringing my newly acquired bad ass Flip Video (check out this beauty HERE) so we’ll have clips galore–but for now here’s my itinerary, basically wannabe-FU money, $11,000 blown in 7 days on extravagant hotels, meals and cool destinations….Jewww yeahhhhhh!
If you’re gonna work hard, you gotta enjoy the rewards:
Aug 20-21: $4,000ish Air Canada 2 people, 3 flight segments, only took a few days worth of research to find the Jewiest combo deal for 2 people, gotta go cheap on the 17 hour flight, aka no biz class, save $10k+, just gonna be full of Nyquil anyway
Aug 21-23: $500/night=$1,000 2 Nights at the Tokyo Ritz Carlton, 50th Floor, awesome views of the city, right in Roppongi aka the Rodeo Drive-like nice area, all around pimpest hotel chain, not just BS Trump-esque glitter either, these guys always come through, if all my readers weren’t so poor, I’d look to get sponsored by them in a heartbeat, as the spoiled Jew I am, I always look to book there. You hear me Ritz peeps! Look at that pool:

I’m Going To Japan August 20th-September 1st, Got Any Tips/Connections?
Posted by timothysykes on Sat 9th of Aug, 2008 11:24:36 AMYes, the rumors are true, but don’t worry, I’m planning this entire vacation around internet access so I’ll still be doing my daily TIMalerts premarket watchlist and trading/alerting TIMalert subscribers to any and all worthy opportunities. In fact, as those of you who’ve read my book An American Hedge Fund know, I’ve profited handsomely while trading under less than ideal conditions cuz it forces me to pick only the most worthy trade setups. And of course the nasty 14 hour time difference will surely cure me of my impatience issues…
But I was wondering if any of you

Reminiscences of a Stock Operator: Maria Bello And Me
Posted by timothysykes on Mon 25th of Feb, 2008 04:37:18 PMReminiscences of a Stock Operator is not only my all-time favorite book, nor is it simply the book to which countless reviews (including one from the Dow Jones Newswire) have compared my book, but the activity itself is actually quite helpful for trading because it’s only through careful reflection of the past that we are better prepared for the future.
After many weeks filled with too many 20-hour work days, I enjoy reminiscing about my favorite annual trip, the Sundance Film Festival. Over the past five years, my friends and I have had some wild and crazy times: partying our asses off, schmoozing with celebs, networking, gawking at the seemingly near-plastic LA models/wannabe actresses and seeing incredible movies many months before they’re fit for public consumption (get ready for The Wackness), but this year the trip went by far too quickly.
Perhaps it was because most of my friends now have serious girlfriends or that my newfound blogging business/TIMtv consumed most of my time or the fact that because I was working so much, I didn’t get to enjoy Sundance as much as I would’ve liked.
But the entire trip was made worthwhile by my brief encounter with the stunning Maria Bello. She may be a bit older than me, out of my league and in a committed relationship, but when we met, sparks flew.
Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself:

I’m Loving Sundance 2008
Posted by Timothy Sykes on Sun 20th of Jan, 2008 12:09:22 PMThis is my fourth trip and it just seems to get better every year. Great movies (well, maybe not this year…yet), crazy party scene (even though Utah’s drinking laws are ridiculous), still managed to sneak my way into a private U2 performance for 300 guests, including some big time Hollywood people like Harvey Weinstein and Colin Farrell and some good food (the restaurants here suck, but my boy Cleaver cooked his incredible annual steak dinner).

Beautiful Models and Charts
Posted by Timothy Sykes on Sun 18th of Nov, 2007 06:53:50 PMI’m off to LA tomorrow morning for some very interesting meetings over the next two days…we’ll see how they go. Last time I was supposed to be there for two days, I met some some beautiful models, extended my trip to seven days and blew $5,000. I had a sweet suite at The Beverly Hills Hotel and one drunken highlight was me high-fiving Andy Rooney (who was my neighbor) as my models and I were heading out to the clubs and he was going to bed (seriously–
