TIMalert Subscribers Made Over $6,000 Yesterday & 7 Hot Penny Stocks To Watch

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Wed 27th of May, 2009 12:25:12 PM

This was sent to TIMalert subscribers around idnight last night because I don’t stop….ever:

TIM trading account—now stands at $56,393 +$8,515, aka 18% gain in May, banked a low risk $800 buying MAPP on the afternoon breakout yesterday, I’m up nicely in May and a total 354% in the last 18 months

Longer Term Account $51,291, up $1,291 in May (started with $50,000 on May 1), no positions

Great 90 minute trade yesterday on MAPP, seeing the minor afternoon breakout with the goal of an afternoon/next day morning spike…today, there are a few plays, but nothing great looking

Took 6400 shares long MDVX from 3.455 and sold average of 3.637 … but I started selling at 3.65 on the way up and it took me 8 minutes to get all my shares filled. Oh well, I’ll take $1133 in quick easy profit.
-Reaper

+$661.03 on OXGN
-TBohen

I got 1000 shares at 3.455 of MDVX. might have sold early but a nice quick $310 profit

-Gil

In at 8.92, sold at 9.23 for quick $289 profit after comm. and right before it made a big dip around market close. Good call Tim!
-chrono

I got in around 9 and out in the mid 20’s, partial fill, so it ended up being $35 profit. That pays for another month. Here I go, one month at a time.
-M.G.

8.9-9.17…Nice gain for the day, thanks for the tip
-Mani

I’m sick at home stuck to my bed. Terrible entry, my fault, but I still made $28
-Tony

I bought SMRT at 7.28 after it had broke the 52 week high. It climbed upward to 7.37 and then dropped around the 7.28ish level and stayed there for about 80 or so mins. finally at the end of the day the stock surged upward and i was able to get out right before the bell at 7.48 and took a 150 dollar profit after commission. A part of me said hold it overnight, but i decided that 150 bucks is a nice profit to take so i took it
-Wallie

Today will be no different as I am about to leave for the mountains again with $356 Tim-dollars in my pocket. Bought MAPP at 8.88 and sold at 9.25 within a half-hour. You hit the nail on the head about taking profits
-S.H.

Made a quick $150 on MAPP. Thanks Tim.
-Grant

MAPP is the one I made $800 on yesterday, see the whole blog post HERE…congrats to the dozens of TIMalert subscribers who profited from that afternoon breakout! It’s still a potential buy if it can breakout above $.9.30ish, but I am soooo freaked out by those one or two guys who keep selling/shorting 10,000 shares at a time…tough to really breakout, choppy price action…sad.

MDVX was the latest StockPreacher pump, it moved from $3.40ish to $3.80ish within minutes, the guy has lost his mojo, but some experienced TIMalert subscribers were quick enough to buy and sell into the pump, a few thousand made, zzzzzzzzz

SEED continued its recent surge, up 16%+, but as I mentioned in THIS video interview with TheStreet.com yesterday, their horrific track record continued and their earnings after the market close meant they lost all yesterday’s gains…some TIMalert subscribers were bold and shorted into earnings—past performance IS indicative of future returns…in Penny Stocks AND finance…potential short, since evn at $5 after hours, its still up from $4 just 2 days ago…before everyone saw what a carcass they were and probly always will be…I’m not a basher, just a realist, I’ve seen too many of these pieces of crap to ever give them the benefit of the doubt.

GRO is the other hot agriculture play, I covered it in THIS video interview with TheStreet.com yesterday, it was up another 15%, but pretty flat yesterday so I wasn’t tempted to buy or short it, still a potential short since it’s just as bad a company as SEED, but it needs a negative catalyst to get my involved.

JVA is the latest hot coffee stock, up 60%+ yesterday, validating my potential buy view in THIS video interview I did last week….massive volume of 1+ million shares, I’d love to see a morning spike or afternoon fade (if you don’t know, go watch my PennyStocking Part Deux DVD) for me to short into, I won’t buy into such dumb/late penny stock momentum

OGXI finally had its first down day after surging from $8 to$20…a competitor got taken over and they had positive drug news, then a short squeeze, nice potential short since it dropped 20% on gradual fading, but I felt weird about shorting since I did another video interview with TheStreet.com yesterday saying considering the fundamental backdrop, it was a potential buy…I won’t give mixed signals, but price action trumpeted competitive logic on this one…no play for me here, the backdrop is still positive and the stock is too high priced for me to really care to trade it.

UOMO just kept dropping, down 15% to 28 cents/share, nearly 20 cents lower than where I covered 2 trading days prior, let my $1,700 profit on a $4,000 investment be a lesson to you—I left $1,000 more on the table with my impatience, desire for profits, trust me, you will inevitably face the same decision, on true pump and dumps like this, patience, maybe even on just a partial position is usually a good idea.

    TIMMAY,

10G's of profits still left on the table in MAPP had you held. I'm sure you got back in today, but assuming you didn't, how long do you let this bug you. I still can't shake the lost profits complex. Mr. Sykes is on his A game in May. Gotta be the girlfriend and the 24 hour tantra sex.

Tim what do you think of USCN?
  • Jose Garica
I have been watching your videos on youtube and on the news. I really like what I see so far. I'm going to sign up for the monthly subcription thing, Tim.
I'm currently signed up for OptionsXpress.com Would you recommend me using ThinkorSwim instead?

I already some experience trading, so I'm going to try to follow your recomendations on stocks and will purchase your DVDs once profit from them.

Oh and do you trade options or only buying stocks and shorting them?
  • MikeNYC
OptionsXpress sucks bug donkey turds esp. for PennyTimStockingAlertsRawDeux-ing.

    1. No shorting stocks under five bucks. Yes, you read that right. Do I need to even go on? WTF is THAT all about, I wonder?

    2. The times I've entered orders for shorts of fairly common names it says "no automatic borrow, please call." Sounds like maintaining a good pool of borrows is not their focus.

    3. Commissions are sky high.

    4. Their charts suck, though they do have some other cool tools.

    5. On the plus side, they offer trading in lots of instruments. Stocks, futures, options, etc. But for pennystocking, forget it.

Which online broker would you recommend for pennystocks? Tim always talks about Etrade(I know they're only for graphs and tools), but I've never heard him say which online broker he uses. I also signed up for ThinkorSwim, Is that an online broker you would recommend?
  • Liam
Theres a couple of posts about this Jose. Tim likes ThinkorSwim a lot which requires a 3500 account minimum. Tim also likes interactivebrokers which has a 10000 account minimum. Lastly tim also likes speedtrader which has a 2000 account activication fee, but isn't as nice as the above.
