Why I’m Going To Kill My Web Designer Pallian

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Mon 25th of May, 2009 05:50:20 PM

Today we remember those who have died in service fighting for freedom, and soon there will be one more on the list–my newly popular web designer Pallian. For as you know from my last email to you and THIS blog post, we raised prices on each of my instructional dvds in my online store by $100 last night at midnight, but Pallian–with his oh so many new projects–seems to have forgotten to update the combo DVD packages too (a 2 DVD combo package was to increase in price by $200, 3 DVDs was to increase $300, 4 DVDs $400, etc.) & I am forced to honor the current combo package prices in my online store until he can update them (I have no idea how to do this, I’m just a stock trader/trading coach about to attempt to BBQ tonight with my girlfriend Daleela), which he tells me he will do on Thursday May 28th, 2+ days from now!

On his Twitter account, he even brags about how busy he is HERE by saying "Just replied to 20 email leads for dev work…if i was a super human, I would’ve just made a cool $100k this month. I need to hire more help" & "Time to crash…" Great,

Now don’t get me wrong, Pallian does amazing work & he’s the one responsible for my website and business taking off (besides my 348% return in the last 18 months, #1 ranking on Covestor out of 25,000+ traders & investors and all my thousands of testimonials from happy customers/TIMalert subscribers), but the recent success and press coverage of our side projects, Chart.ly & Tweetizen, have made him the busiest web 2.0 designer around, so much so that I can’t even get him to make these little changes!

So, to be a truly honorable businessman, I will honor the current prices for those combo DVD packages listed in my online store (which are each already discounted by $100 and $200+), if you want ANY combination of ANY of my instructional DVDs & TIMalert subscriptions, just email me HERE and I’ll send you a special link to purchase those products at the current prices. We can mix and match any instructional DVD package and/or subscription you like, just email me your requests.

That means for the next 48 hours, by Wednesday May 27th at midnight, ALL the combo DVD packages in my online store will be sold at their current prices, and if you wait until Thursday or anytime later to order, you’ll be paying $200, $300, $400, even $500 more for the very same combo packages.

If we sell too many combo DVD packages in my online store by Wednesday May 27th at midnight, I will take Pallian down–and all you people emailing him for development work will be out a great designer hahahaha–but for now, enjoy reaping the benefits of Pallian’s popularity & my lack of web design knowledge.

    tim,
your an awesome business man and marketer
  • no, if i was awesome, i'd have a backup designer so we could get these combos updated, this is a business mistake, just gotta be honorable about it
  • Bobby Lane
Tim, could you make an any more obvious marketing ploy...nice job, but feel bad for the dimwits who believe it was all a "mistake"...but hey, whatever sells....i guess.
  • WTF ??
Another act of pure greed, cheat and marketing. Sure - whatever works. Just don't lie about 'trying to helping out people' anymore, and don't call yourself an honest trader.
  • the only dimwits are the ones who think this is marketing
  • Sambo Jickass
More transparent nonsense from the boy. Any 15 year old geek could design a site like this and a 5 year old could change the price. Either you are a shmuck or you are full of it.

Hey, if you can get the clowns to buy your 15 cent DVD foir $300, I guess you're entitled.

But no one believes the hype. No one.
  • smart, post the same comment under 2 different aliases, usual penny stock moron
  • Bobby Lane
I dont know who other guy is, and I never said anything bad about your DVDs or style, but marketing wise, if you want to extend a deal just extend it, dont make up a crazy story you expect people to believe, some might go for it, but it will turn others who see it for what it is away. Just a suggestion, but its your site so do what you gotta do. I wouldnt trash your style cus Im a subscriber of yours, but this required my input for how blatant it is.
  • again, i could care less what people believe, pallian is too friggin busy, he forgot to up the combos and now there's a little deal available that i will honor
  • Rob White
Tim, I've been following your blog since about november '07 when you started this quest for replicating your previous success of blah blah blah...barmitzvah money....(I've read it about a million times). I read your blog for one reason, I enjoy your thoughts on stocks and particular trends and chart patterns. I believe I've even emailed you once or twice a while back at the beginning, and I think you may have even responded-my thanks!

However, this post of yours absolutely disgusts me and was way out of line. To start it with the line "Today we remember those who have died in service fighting for freedom" and somehow contort that into what may or may not have been a real rant about your web designer and then go onto to pitching your DVD was one of the most out of line things I've read from someone who is trying to legitimize his personal reputation and trading style as professional, transparent, and "of the people".

You hype and puff yourself and your products, and for the most part, I take it as just part of what this is all about...I mean hey, you gotta make $, and I respect that. But mentioning the memory of those who have given their lives for our country, then linking that to killing your web designer-to then pitching your DVD is morally reprehensible and absolutely inexcusable.

Tim this post reads almost exactly (as best as I can recall - but shorter, for sure) a series of newsletter spam come-ons from Agora or one of those retail newsletter firms.

To the point that as I'm reading this post I'm saying to myself "no he di-ent!!! just recycle a year old spam hack newsletter ad!!!"

I searched my gmail but I must have deleted it. It went something like "Our stupid editor, proofreader etc. or SOMEBODY just made a price mistake on this newsletter price, newsletter price increase, whatever.... So for the next three days, two weeks, whatever it was, we're gonna honor that price, blah blah..." You get the point. Complete with deal pitch and what seems like half-way outrage (if you were really pissed you'd just fire the guy.)

Which brings me to my next thought: why would Tim publicly call out his second largest supply-chain element, after himself, and seemingly intend to keep doing business with the guy? Seems a little odd.... But hey, that's just me, and I really don't care.

Anyway, if you saw the pitch I am referring to, and I really wish I could have turned it up, you'd see how close it looks to your post, to the degree that you, as a disinterested observer, would have to say "Jeez, this guy just copied (and shortened) so and so's newsletter pitch."

I'm a subscriber, not a troll. Just a careful reader. This ad or pitch spam will turn up now that it's been mentioned and I guarantee you will read it, and assuming you are telling the truth, will say "Holy crap, those dimwits were right! What a coincidence!"

Not that it really matters - it's just a price and if it works for a reader, they should just buy it and not worry about the backstory. Of course, people love and give too much weight to stories anyway, which is why most of them lose in the market (and life.) But that's another topic...
  • haha i was wondering if that 1st lien would get to anyone...but if i do kill pallian, he will be comprable to those who died fighting for freedom, in this case, the freedom of gutter market knowledge
  • ha compare to me to agora? no, i wrote this with just what i was thinking and this is pallian's fault...the difference is i'll honor it instead of trying to sneak away (i only discovered this when someone orders a combo and the price wasnt upped)
  • MikeNYC
So, Rob White, do Memorial Day furniture sales disgust you as well? Memorial Day car sales? Come on. Tim posted a Memorial Day sale. Either the day is somehow sanctified or it is not. End of story. The rest is quibbling about verbiage and has nothing to do with the point of trivializing the day.

There's a Memorial Day sale on tampons at CVS. Gonna write them a letter, too?
  • MikeNYC
Hey, I'm not doubting you, Tim. I don't think copying some lame newsletter pitch is your game. But you're gonna be surprised when it turns up.

And yeah, you're just like Agora....

    (I keed, I keed.....)

...except for that part about how you consistently make people money and Agora doesn't.

what do you expect from an egomaniac that refuses to correct the spelling of a HEADLINE after someone corrects him.

    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/septupled

He invents a word and is so proud of it he leaves it there to rot in the sun. 'septuled'. yeah, there's the word. it means you are a tool 7 times over.
  • Rob White
MikeNYC, You do have a valid point, however most memorial day furniture and car sales don't start off their commercials or base their marketing on the memory of soldiers that have passed away. They don't show pictures or describe the images of fallen soldiers. They dont' say "Men died for our country...Im gonna kill my webdesigner....come buy our useeeed cars!!"

Plus...even though his ideas are good, Timothy Sykes is nothing more than a 2bit dirty jew who sits on the cusp of a middle-upper class NY society that he publicly denounces yet privately patronizes when he gets invited to their parties with his yuppie friends.

A Jew, born in CT, and who lives in New York? And he only got 12k for his barmitzvah? He went to Tulane, and majored in Philosophy? riight...His background all makes sense now...While 12k is a lot to receive as a young Jew for a barmitzvah, it isn't real wealth...It's not "old money", or finance money, which no doubt Tim has met many who belong to both groups over the years. And a Jew growing up in CT/NY and where did he go to school? Tulane? wtf? So he obviously wasn't smart enough or come from status to get into any of the socially acceptable elite east coast colleges, so he goes to Tulane (albeit a decent school), and majors in...Philosophy? ...huh?

Holding a negative bitterness towards those with real money, who have status, who went to those schools he couldn't get into, with real finance jobs, he exerts his moral superiority by doing this....crap...as a hobby.

But, do I think his intentions are good? Yeah, I think his heart is in the right place. However, the hot shot NY-Assertive-Asshole Jew-salesman persona that he takes on comes off as cocky and ill-spirited. If this is truly his personality, then he stands as a perfect testament to the culture of which our financial was brought to its knees (no doubt where Tim spends his time). He pushes, pushes, pushes his products...sign on the bottom line. "I'm the best, my way is awesome". "Make money with me". I'm not saying his techniques are wrong or right, I'm saying the persona he takes on is the quintessence of the world for which he was probably brought up, or for sure always wanted to be in. His lack of regard for others, his site visitors, those who he doesn't 'have time to deal with' is another example of how he asserts his superiority yet and exemplifies a typical Wallstreet banker...lack of humility is dangerous...but taking advice from a bitter person like ol' tim is suicide if you don't know what you're doing-which is why he chooses to weed out the newbs and the poor(the same thing Jewish society does). If one had money and knew how to invest why would one buy Tim's crap??? He is cutting off the same college students that he once was...ones don't have enough money to buy $500 worth of materials yet desire to learn-talk about pulling the ladder up after you!
  • woahhhhh robby boy, where do i ever say i'm the best? u seem to think that just because i'm the #1 trade on covestor out of 25,000, i would think i'm the best...nope, i think my students can do better :)
  • Rob White
timmmmmy boy! You see I have no lif eso I want to waste your precious time. please forgive me
  • riiiight
You just proved every single point of mine by doing what you just did....
Push someone, tell the truth when it doesn't go in their favor, and they end up adjusting the results.

FACT. I have time to waste your time because I'm worth more than you ever were. Because I am the kid of the guy you so obviously want to be...and who knows more than you do.

If you ever want to update your site to allow you to change more shoot me over an email. I have done website programmer for over 10 years and just starting to get into trading. Maybe we can work out a deal.

Tim, I am sorry man but i have to agree with these guys. That was a terrible marketing strategy and even if its true you could save for yourself.....
  • Osti
    You people need lives
  • tim watch out for CBOU, it is heading towards a resistance of around 5.90 which it has failed to break past twice already, keep your eye on it!
  • acutally, the resistance could be at that 5.60 mark, which would make it a decent short, but hey
  • oo shizzz MAPP - volume is fading, it could fall off thgat cliff!
  • ooo butt, if it breaks 8.00 ..think of the stop losses on that big phat number
  • Gary
You are such an insensitive jerk. You use Memorial Day to talk about killing someone and try to equate that to the thousands and thousands that gave their lives for our country. Your little problem, which is probably contrived, does not even come close to what our service men and women have to deal with every day. Yea, I know you were just kidding about killing the web guy, but it is poor taste to joke about death, especially on the day we honor so many. Tim S; the S stands for STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID
  • What in the helllll do you use to find these stocks. you must be visiting a shiz load of sites. I'm upset you didn't ride MAPP out more though, I haven't bought anything of yours, and i might consider the alerts, but right now, in this market, I just don't need help on gettting started.

You have inspired me though to work less, and day-trade more. I refuse to apply for a job all cause of you. And i blame you too if i loose the money i make bussing tables in the stock market, but honestly your good. I'd love to just give you my $2000 right now, but i'm sure you don't wanna be liable. Thanks for the Street.com vids, they help keep me focused sometimes when i'm lookin for a market to hit up.
  • TIM C
I have to agree,,,this was in poor taste. Obviously greed is put above those who should be never forgotten,,,and to use Memorial Day for what was meant to be humor,,,,well just poor taste.
Also obvious,,,Tim,,you have never served in the military,,,nor have you lost a dear friend who gave it all for the USA.
That said,,,those that died for us all,,,died so you would have Freedom of Speach.
I suggest you come clean,,,and appologize,,,,as I am sure it was supposed to be humorous. It was immature and in poor taste.
  • Dave
Are you all Insane, I cant belive I am writing this but I will. I am in the Army, have been for 11 years. He did not insult me, nor my soldiers. You are all pathetic with nothing better to do than bash someone for something you may think is offensive. Its not and this is the horses mouth. You preached of freedom of speech and you ever heard of a figure of speech. Id like to kill you, do i really want to no, sue me, i gave you that right too
