Happy Monday everyone! No true great buys or shorts today, but there are some decent setups that, depending on price action, could open up worthwhile trading opportunities.
RT did breakout past the $6.25 point , but it was a sloooow breakout over by the end of the morning…I didn’t buy, regretfully, in part because of getting ready for LiveStock and in part because it’s a real company/I stink at buying….food news is nearly a dozen PennyStocking DVD students & TIMalert subscribers nailed it:
Todays profit: +$230 on RT buy and -50 on RHIE short. Thanks Tim.

GCI owns USA Today and along with the rest of the newspaper industry, has been getting crushed…the stock surged 40% to $3.75 on news a big value fund doubled its stake….this is not a company saving-type stake as happened with APP a few weeks ago and GCI is sure to report crappy earnings this week, this is a potential short, ideally if a few shorts get squeezed on continued upside first!
CZZ I lost $600ish on covering my short position at $6.25, as it spiked past $6.20 resistance right at the market open…I took losses immediately because I am disciplined…you guys help me with that (thanks!)…several others took quick losses too:
Out at 4.19. Took a $85 loss.
-woosh

-R
Covered 2000 CZZ @ 4.168 from avg. 4.025 yesterday. Net loss of $305.87.
-N
Buy Cover 1500 @ $4.20…Loss $360
-O
Covered at 4.29. $330 loss
-JZ
This is still a potential short, but only if it takes out the $3.95-$4 area, not when its any higher….this one isn’t over since volume is definitely fading bigtime.
APWR surged 30% to $5.80 on the back of solid, if sketchy (Chinese companies are ALWAYS sketchy, due to lack of any SEC/accounting rules)…I considered buying it in the afternoon for an afternoon/next day morning spike, but it faded so I held off…this is a RT-like potential buy if it cracks above $6.10, which is already somewhat far away, so any extended breakout past that might be tough.
AEN is still a potential short, even though the potential downside isn’t much…it’s just that there’s such a high probability of further downside
DNDN is my #1 potential short, its been fading perfectly for days, but support is $6.20 so at $6.20, it could really crack quick, possibly too quick for any alerts, hopefully an afternoon fade not a morning panic. Be careful of upcoming FDA news though…
RCRC is a multi-month breakout, its chart is strong and I thought about buying it into the market close Thursday afternoon, but it started to fade late afternoon and only spiked into a multi-day breakout of $7.20 in the final few minutes….oh yeah and of course, it has a horrrrrible history of gapping strong the next day after any spike…aka it never does! This is a potential short.
PSPM is an old pump but a great pump, its risen from the mid 40-cent range to the mid 60-cent range in the past few days….breakout at 80 cents, potential buy past 80 cents and volume, potential short if it doesn’t breakout or the breakout is too minimal
ZLC consolidated from $5ish to $3ish after a big spike, now its back above $4…potential buy if it breaks out past $5, but I’m not so sure how much upside there is
STSA, UCBH, ENTG, UCBI are 4 low priced stocks breaking out, no better illustration than right HERE
