Remember true options trader Phil Davis’ computer setup?

Michael Goode, aka Reaper, was scalping so much, he had to order a special-made setup for his injured self.

Well, the photos below have been making the rounds, I forget who people say they belong to and while they’re no doubt impressive, you don’t need anything like that.

I now trade with just over $44,000, up 255%+ in the last 1.5 years, hahaha yeahhhh you can learn how to grow your small accounts right HERE, and all I do is trade with 1 simple Macbook Pro from ISellMac.com.

Bigger account-holders probly need 2-3 screens, but in no way will any of you ever need to go out and buy these things, as cool as they might look:

I wonder what is the monitor-to-income ratio. In other words, do people who use 2 monitors to trade make over 100K whereas 5 monitor people make over 500K?

The bottom one is a fake

Here's the link to my blog post on my setup: http://www.goodevalue.com/2009/01/14/my-new-erg...

You really get diminishing turns after the second monitor. But a second monitor will make almost anyone more productive no matter what they do.

Interesting...Google could be in talks to buy Twitter: http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/provi...

Geez doesn't anyone in finance know about virtual desktop? I can understand 2-4 screens but after that you're just being stupid. Yeah if you happen to get freebies along the way and keep adding them but going out and buying 5-10 matching monitors is just bad money management. You could have just as well got a pile of coke and stuffed your face in it Tony Montana style while you're at it.

Virtual desktop allows you to switch between several screen on the same monitor. Windows sometimes gets goofy with it but it works great on Linux...If Linux were a little more user friendly it would be far superior to Windows or Mac.

Hey Tim is livestock on today?

This is the coolest setup I've seen:

    http://scopelabs.net/lab.html

And the house is cool too. It's not some gay opulent room with custom cabinetry...nor is it some dorky card-table setup. Myself, I just use a laptop in internet cafes...can't stand being in an office.
  • younggunz
When I see that scopelabs site I understand what Tim means when he says traders are a weird bunch.
  • alex
Yeah, it's wierd. But I can't decide which is wierdest...picture of Sykes with a wierd smirk and holding money or picture of G. Simmons pointing guns at you.
  • younggunz
Tim is relatively normal...Yeah that was a pretty cheesy photo shoot though with the fancy suit and red tie.
  • alex
FAS is a potential short on this weak volume break-out to 6.80s

"But I can’t decide which is wierdest"

easily the guns. confidence and money make sense for Tims site.
