This was sent to TIMalert subscribers at 3am today, they were prepared for today, were you?

After a decent week last week, my trading account stands at $44,389, a new all-time high, up nearly 5% on the month, not bad for a short seller when the S&P 500 is up 13%+…because I root for strength to short sell into!

Right now futures are getting wrecked, the auto industry asked for more help and they got rejected,,,good, give the $ to startups, not unskilled workers who we can’t support forever, let alone for another few months…

Check out these failing companies and how I’ll play it:

CEGE has doubled in 2 days, but we’re talking 20 cents/share…right pattern, wrong stock price…if this was a $2 stock that spiked to $4, I’d be all over it, for now, I’m just bored.

VTNC is a struggling transportation play, up from $3 to $5 in 2 days, not because it did anything special but because the whole sector is hot…look at bigger competitor YRCW…this is a clear potential short, especially if it cracks $5 to the downside

CLRT surged 30% on Friday due to financing…the fact that it spiked right away means this news is big and not likely to reverse…I might still sort since it’s not usually this volatile, but only if the stock really gets ahead of itself in the high $2s

SOLR is a lognterm downtrending solar play that is now breaking out of a 6-month resistance at $6…now at $6.64, there’s no resistance until $8…potential short around there, until then, I won’t buy because it’s already ahead of itself.

HIMX I made just under $300 on the predictable morning drop on Friday…it never really bounced much and will likely continue dropping…stairstep pattern down we go…as detailed in my original PennyStocking DVD…especially helped by the overall market’s drop…congrats to the other TIMalert subscribers who profited from this one!

CBLI has doubled off its lows the past few days, but its got a conference call Tuesday morning, no way will I short ahead of that kind of big potential news..i’ll wait until afterwards to hear if the company is as bad as their longterm chart indicates.

LNET is a gradual riser, doubling the last 10 days, just watching now, not steep enough for me to consider shorting, remember the CHRS, next!

EVK I almost shorted Friday, but Interactive Brokers screwed it up for me with their extra-long login process…I’ll get it down eventually..this is a clear potential short, especially on any weakness…volume has already begun fading since its up from 75 cents to $2.50 in just a few days.

Solar Stocks all pretty much consolidated, blehhh, they act like real companies, I’m so not interested in that kind of choppy price action, next!

SPRD surged 90% on Friday after winning a big contract with Samsung Friday…even after the rise, the stock is trading at cash, book value is much higher, this is a value play that most people thought was gonna go out of business….reminds me of FEED and a potential multi-day runner, my girlfriend bought some right before the market close, I was too much of a baby….should have continued strength except for overall market weakness will hinder any huge rise…potential buy if it can breakout past $2, Friday’s high.
