A big drop from my record $83k month in December and $70,000 in August 2008 and below I’ll tell you why…

January 2009: $43,683

$17,851 TIMalerts

$21,367 Instructional DVDs

$3,388 Advertising & Affiliates

$1,077 An American Hedge Fund

Notes:

The big drop wasn’t due so much to sales, sure, they were down a bit, but when you go on a monthlong European vacation, not to mention make some not-so-great trades, not to mention the economy is collapsing and several TIMalert subscribers just got laid off, that’s to be expected.

No, the big drop was due to affiliate/advertising, dropping from $29k to $3k, because we’ve gotten some big ass lump sum payments and last month aka the $80k and $70k months are totally due to those lump payments, otherwise my biz is yielding $40-50k/month, even less so far in February as I’m down 2.6% in my trading and some people think that means my strategy no longer works (we’ll see over time, just gotta beat Cramer/failing fund managers/value investors down 40-70% LOL)

After expenses, we’re talking about $35k in personal income for me, meaning my trip was all paid for as I was taking it…not that I’ll be taking any more trips anytime soon as we’ve got a bunch of new websites/tools and projects we’re working on to help the little people do better in the fraud-filled stock market.

You might laugh at my $6 in trading profits, but understand I was up over $2,000 in the first half of the month before I took on some rather dumb trades…it happens…unfortunately. If I was the manipulative marketing machine Motley Fool, I’d congratulate myself on beating the overall market which tanked nearly 10%, but I’m not so I won’t. This was a sad month for me and I will work harder on not screwing up like so many in this joke of an industry.

Was just curious about your advertising setup... if its lump sum payments then are you doing direct advertisements or are you a part of the advertising/publishing networks. Are they on a CPM or CPC basis? Just wondering how you've got it setup and I'll have to go look back and see if you touched on this.

Why not email me and have my firm set up a PPC and a display campaign for you. Then we can not only promote your dvds/ TImAlerts/ but the increased web traffic can led to the ability to charge a higher CPM rate for the ads running on your blog.

What you are offering as a service is something I have always wanted in trading. I do not have the 10000+hrs spare that it takes to become successful at trading but you have clearly put that in and more!! So for us to have the ability to follow an honest trader like yourself for little $ is just amazing. I am here in the UK and trading american penny stocks, its so cool!!

Trading losses are just a cost of being in this business. I run my own business here in the UK and I have to pay my overheads to keep going so taking trading losses is just the same thing. As in all businesses you just got to keep your overheads(losses) to a minimum, which you seem great at.

I have 2 of your DVD's and when I earn some more $ through trading I will get the rest for my education. I wanna do this on my own aka like you in your book, what an awesome way to make a living from anywhere in the world.

Anyway I am just finishing reading your book for the 3rd time, love it :)

You say you are transparent but you book ad revenue when you get it. Do you do the same thing for Timalerts? For instance, if someone pays you $12,000 for a years worth of advertising you didn't make 12,000 that month. You would actually just make $1000 that month (it's not being honest to claim you made it all upfront). The same thing goes for your Timalerts. If 100 morons bought a year's subscription to your Timalerts you can't say you made that all this month. You would actually have to divide by twelve to get what you made this month. If you truely are transparent why don't you break down what you make more realistically instead of using your Enron accounting.

Someone complaining about losing on penny stocks is pretty funny.

On a side note, what I found funny was how Tim only posts "winners" comments (I know, it's called marketing) and bad mouths anyone in the chat room who loses money when he is on - usually harshly. Sort of ironic with the $6 January gain -but at least he admits it.

I'm not pro or con TS, I just think there is more face value with full transparency than not - but full transparency is bad for marketing.
