You Can Profit From Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (BBBY) Desperation With Their Everlasting Coupons

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Sat 7th of Feb, 2009 02:05:20 PM

This is the real PennyStocking…counting pennies through coupons. I used to mock people for going to BBBY, but now that I’ve got my own place in NYC, I love it!

They’ve got everything a house could ever want and it’s all reasonably priced…somewhat. But what really gets me excited are their policies on their ubiquitous 20% off on any one item coupons–you can redeem them anytime! And when I say anytime, I mean A N Y T I M E.

A few weeks ago, I found some old–think 3 months to 3 years–BBBY receipts, collected the dozen or so 20% off any one item coupons my my mom had given me and I went to my local BBBY store and cashed in over $200 worth of cash and credit back…niiiiiiice!

They’re only strict in that you’re limited to use one coupon per item bought, but anybody who has any more than a few friends, relatives or mailing addresses should be able to collect a fair number of coupons to redeem….A N Y T I M E.

Now, I’m not sure how it works with other stores, but I think this is just crazy. Reason dictates that you should only be allowed to use the coupons at the time of purchase, or maybe a few days later if you need to return some stuff. Not months and years later, right?

As I type this, I’m looking at my new growing mountain of coupons which will inevitably go towards providing me with a few hundred dollars in discounted goods :)

I saved enough for the Pennystocking DVD with a set of calphalon pans.

Sounds like BBBY are just "oozing with desperation". Maybe they should sign up for Adam Sandler's "Click" sequel. -
Serious note, I never payed any mind to cutting out coupons ... now I find myself with several coupons in hand before I even think about heading to the grocery store. I use to laugh at people that held up store lines-going through coupons, not anymore! Hey, If i can save an extra $5 or so, each trip, I'll take it. To me, store brand (Kroger/Walmart in this case) taste the same as the recognized-brand name label. ; )
  • hobo, thanks for the tip, i tried that, but it only brought in like $95 for the day so it wasnt worth it

Tim, you're for real. Don't pay attention to bloody bastards with their idiotic comments. JUST DON'T WAIST YOUR IMPORTANT TIME on them, Ok?

    Thanks.
  • thanks dan, will get better
  • melissa, the patterns are all detailed in my DVDs, most timalert subscribers just watch/are dumb/poor, most stocks trade many hundreds of thousands of shares/day, i hold for 1-2 days and best of all, i havent even been winning lately! i fi was front running, i should be doing better than ever since my subscriber base is better than ever...oh yeah and also SFLY and CRYP were my 2 picks that worked out perfectly without me, front running is a BS accusation from penny stock promoters not wanting me to short their shit

"most timalert subscribers just watch/are dumb/poor"

Tim - you are calling your customers dumb? So your business model is to sell snake oil to the mentally weak and poor?

Why would anyone want to support this guy? He calls you dumb.
  • mike, yes i am, brutal honesty baby!

They're also a good spot for trying out as seen on TV products and being able to return them if they suck. Unlike when you order it by mail and have to deal with shipping it back and sketchy customer service. I never buy anything major from there unless I have one of those 20% coupons.

Be honest Tim you didn't start going there because you got your own place. It's not like you just moved out of your parents house. You really started going there because you recently have your own place WITH your GF and can't get by with just bachelor pad furnishings.

Everyone is dumb, Tim is right. Once you realize you are dumb, then you have a fighting chance. Getting the self-awareness of dumbity is the hard part.
  • Thanks , this coupons for me.
