Videos From 2008: Bringing Female Models On CNBC, Melissa Francis Does Not Approve
Posted by Timothy Sykes on Sat 24th of Jan, 2009 02:31:32 PMThis was actually back in 2007 and nope, I haven’t been on CNBC since…
After a strenuous, model casting call, I finally narrowed down over 200 applicants to just 3 models to bring on CNBC (seriously…Dealbreaker covered the casting call)
Not only did Melissa Francis freak out before the show because the girls were far prettier than her–giving her an excuse to show off her snobby “I’m-not-just-an-attractive-female-I’m-a-professional-please-respect-me-at-all-times-because-I’m-not-a-bimbo-Ivy-League-schooled-attitude–but one of the girls’ dress was too short to make it past CNBC producers…
I thought it went well–the pressure got to me a bit and I screwed up some of my reasoning, but the live audience loved it–that clapping at the end was totally spontaneous–and I turned out to be dead on with ISRG as they blew out earnings during the CNBC contest and the stock jumped 20% in a day.
Now, the reasons why I haven’t been back on…hmmmmm, here are my guesses:
1. Lots of bad mouthing about me from influential Trader Monthly, now that the magazine is going belly up, and I’ll probly have a hand in scooping up the pieces, this issue is resolved.
2. I trash talk about the SEC, CNBC being manipulators, yeah, I can see why the network known for getting offended by guests going on Fox Biz might not want to feature me..LOL, these stock manipulators are grrrreat at their jobs!
3. Lots of offended females called/wrote in and said I demeaned women, can’t please em all, especially the 5 or 6 females in the world who follow finance…suck on that you uptight ####es….just kidding, there’s like 8 females in this business, respect! As for demeaning women, yeah right, sex sells everything from perfume to candy bars, why not finance? Lighten up you losers, those who were offended are so stuffy, they probly got canned lately so they don’t even have the $ to follow the markets these days and are probly librarians or museum tour guides.
4. My hedge fund lost 35% in the last 2 years, deleting my wunderkind status and while I’m up 250%+ in the last year or so, it’s on such a small $ amount, no network respects that so it’ll be a little while til I’m back, bringing models on CNBC and having wet t-shirt contests as was originally planned and pitched by me to CNBC producers.
