9 January Effect Penny Stocks In Play Lots of plays due to the January
Effect…this is the time of year where people go scrounging for beaten down
stocks that have been hit hard due to tax loss selling during the months
before…I explain it more on my Shortstocking DVD….be very very careful
shorting these, they can really run, actually better to buy many of them
into the January buying wave…

BLTI, well, I was right it was a dog, but it dropped to quickly before I
pound this doggie for some easy $, oh well, plenty more doggies, just call
me Michael Vick, I dominate these little doggies!

CWST I said it all right HERE

CTDC is a perennially crappy company that loves hype, now they’re building a
big solar farm, great, just what the world need with $40
oil…idiots…potential short but be careful of January effect

CPY is basing and actually moving higher…lesson: don’t short just because
you think something, if a stock doesn’t break support/resistance, go with
the trend…I’d consider buying this before shorting

DNN is a classic January effect play, potential short on excessive strength,
resistance in the low $2s

MEG is just the first big up day, stay tuned… MELA has double bottomed, I’m
not even considering shorting this thing.

PRS is just its first up day, no resistance anywhere in sight.

SGLP isn’t up or is liquid enough for me, let’s see how it performs

CTDC, pretty short sighted analysis there as expected - enjoy the squeeze. Oil can be $1 for all they care - the problem in China is pollution and government is cracking down on that something fierce. Regardless the price of oil, they are forcing conversion to solar/wind, environmentally friendly sources. You can take your 0.50c short and throw an I told you so, but that means squat in the grand scheme of things. This is forced by government, plain and simple, and in the long run they will profit from that.

Now if you are talking american based solar plays, then your assessment is correct.

Tim look at oww intraday chart, it was nice short
  • ha, u told us so about CTDC? 7 or 8 times out of ten this kind of stock would go to pennies, thee guys are just better at hype...the other ones are on my watchlist
  • and OWW is absolute shit, another low percetange play, who is this idiot?

In truth, CTDC looks like a potential killer short play as early as tomorrow, day traded, watching in real time quotes, as it has gone up too far too fast. Some of these can be tricky on timing, like MXC was was earlier last year when it went from 5 to 50 almost overnight, then tanked, reloaded and eventually fell. CTDC will be profit taken shortly, so if you can get the shares to short, you are in business. I think this might be called a Supernova (?) short, according to this web page's author. It is a real possibility, no matter what you call it.

That is why I wonder why Tim Sykes IIRC uses TOS, I recall Interactive Brokers has one of the biggest shortable stock lists, even lower priced issues.
