Problems With TIMalerts Emails Representative Of Typical Small Company Inefficiencies

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Sun 2nd of Nov, 2008 02:55:03 PM

Yes, some TIMalert subscribers get the emails later than others…as the subscriber count grows, our email service, MailChimp takes longer to get them all out.

I apologize for the delay and I can’t help but notice, this kind of pathetic inefficiency is representative of soooo many small companies. It actually helps me prove my point that most small companies will fail.

Because of their limited capital/executive experience, even if they are so lucky to happen to stumble upon something as potentially bigtime as PennyStocking they’re simply not equipped to handle business growth/success.

The good news is that since I’ve been studying how often small companies fail, I can do something about it. I don’t need to just pump and dump my stock to make $, I can actually learn from the mistakes of others and build a world class operation.

So here’s what I’m gonna do:

1. Within the next week or so, in addition to the TIMalerts.com subscribers-only website with complimentary chatroom and daily watchlist/trade emails, subscribers will receive instantaneous text message alerts for all trades I make via a seemingly awesome service from http://www.txtwire.com

2. Hire several more people, Pallian and I just cannot handle all the work ourselves anymore.

3. Help my subscribers learn my strategy better, through my instructional DVDs, so they can avoid costly mistakes like IDAE (detailed post coming…) which proved to them that the losses due to a lack of education costs thousands, not hundreds.

4. Gonna upgrade my email service to something ridiculously expensive so the emails go out faster…lookin’ around, anyone know of any?

Now thats what we like to see. An owner confident in his business to be willing to spend money to make it better. Sorry I don't have any good suggestions about who to use for reliable mass email service. I think the company that I work for could help but they are probably really expensive and may be overkill. Think teraflop speed server towers.

Hopefully that txtwire service can handle the volume you plan to use it for as well.

Tim, great idea. Unfortunately it will not work outside the US, so TimAlerts are still not an effective option for me. How about IM based alerts?
  • we'll figure something out, looking at all options

check out constantcontact for the email subscriptions
  • Tim,

Not sure how many subscribers you have, but a ton of big companies are starting to use and give rave reviews to MadMimi.com. For their biggest plan, they'll send 12 emails per second for unlimited subscribers. This would send out to 1000 subscribers in 1 minute 25 seconds. Pretty amazing. They also allow you to setup custom templates, etc. I just started using them for my email newsletter and have been pleased. Check them out, and good luck.

Tim, what type of people are you looking to hire? what type of work would they do? Might be able to help you find someone.
  • Try icontact.com - they serve some really large clientele.
  • So what do you guys think of STEM???? Has do do with stem cell research or something. Looking over the 1 month chart, it looks to possibly start to break out. Volume has picked up too. Any opinions??? I might play this one on Monday.
  • Chris M
STEM looks like it could be a great play. But I wouldn't hold it past Monday due to the elections.
  • Tim - Constant Contact or iContact are pretty good
  • thanks guys, we tried icontact and constant contact, but the dealys werent much better...gotta go more professional

he's going to need more then just email software. He's going to have to either buy a server dedicated for email or subscribe to a host that can guarantee a certain level of performance. Just googling for a solution you get bombarded with mass email marketing schemes and guru affiliate websites.

ive got an idea, u should just stop trading, and only send out alerts. i mean u trade like 2000 shares so it cant be for the money............but its wrong for u to take liquidity out of the market ahead of ur subs. im not a paying sub, but i urge those of u to take ur money back and alert the sec....u have rights
  • That wouldn't work JON - cuz then tim isn't risking nothing and its not as real. bad idea. then he's just like the other alert scammers.... at least in my book
  • bdog
Jon he is repeating his 12415 to 1.65 mill for all the haters and non beleivers..plus he has to stroke his ego
  • Take a look at http://www.returnpath.net/

    I recommend them.
  • I agree, he should continue to trade. The moment you just advise instead of invest yourself than you get less attached to the research and hour to hour opportunities. I'm not a subscriber to TimAlerts as I don't have time to trade but congrats on the continued growth to your site Tim.

p.s. I did that Wall Street Warriors audition, got to the last 10 being considered but got cut in the end.

    Cheers.

what about an instant messenger service.

    Tim,

I thought someone would have mentioned it before but my mentor uses AWEBER. As a matter of a fact all of my mentors use Aweber and I have even used it. I was talking on the phone with my mentor as he was sending the trade alerts out and I got it right away. Check them out.
  • This advice is really going to help, thanks.
