Sarah Palin’s Income & Investments

Thanks to Eddy for posting THIS link to a fun 12 page financial disclosure statement for Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin.

If you take the time to click, you’ll learn:

-Sarah makes a cool $125k/year, her husband makes $46k as an oil production operator and he banked another $46k through fishing

-They’ve got a home loan through Wells Fargo

-Her husband pulled in another $20k+ with his Iron Dog Race (at first I thought it was Iron Will-type stuff, sadly, it’s not)

-They’ve got a bunch of ETFs, mutual funds and stocks, none of which are doing very well, the mutual funds are down, on average, 18% this year.

    The fishing income is not odd at all. My cousin is a fisherman on the Berring Sea and can make $50K + with 10/15 days of work as crewman on a crab boat.

    Sounds like they're more like the income of many upper middle class families.

    Not to get too political but I don't see why any successful trader or anyone that busts their ass to make their own living for that matter would vote for Obama or any democrat. Call me greedy but I don't like giving the government more money then I have to. They suck at spending it properly and responsibly.

    im surprised she only makes 125k, but those crab fishing guys can make decent money for the short time they are fishing. its actually one of the world most dangerous jobs.

  • OK, not that I've ever though of this before in my life, but if someone told me to imagine what Palin's handwriting looks like, I would've pictured that nice, round, bubbly stuff we see in this very document. Just screams overly sunny disposition and confident ebullience. Wild.
  • ha how big is rev shark's fund? there were close to 1mil shares of SIL available to short, who says not o an easy $1-2 mil in profits on a $3.5-$4 mil investment inside of a week

    For sure the fishing income is from the best Red Salmon fishery in the world.....Alaska's Bristol Bay Red Salmon. Incredibly healthy and delicious. Yes I do fish it myself and the income is not out of order, but it was a decent season that year and in other years it is possible to actually lose money, and the work isn't easy. So, eat Wild Alaskan salmon (shameless plug).
