5 Stocks To Watch, Only 1 Is Even Close To Tempting Me

Posted by Timothy Sykes on Wed 10th of Sep, 2008 11:37:09 AM

This was sent out to TIMalert subscribers this morning at 1am…so far, PCYC has been a near eprfect downtrender…

So after my morning watchlist said yesterday there was literally no great trade setups, website traffic was waaaay down. And, I expect the same thing today…In commentary, especially financial commentary, it’s a sin to say there’s nothing to do, no good ideas from which to profit. Brokers, newsletters, gurus, ANALysts, everyone gets paid to bring ideas to the table. So they do every day.
Is it any wonder why 99% of their ideas suck?

I’m not gonna play that game cuz as those of you PennyStocking veterans who’ve been playing for a while know, there’s not always great opportunities down here in the gutter.

Yes, there are gonna be slow times like these, so TIMAlerts might slow down every now and then. I’m not just gonna force a trade in order to keep subscribers happy that they’re paying for new ideas every second. Don’t get me wrong, I am always on the lookout and that’s what you‘re paying/reading me for.

PCYC is the only one of my wacthlist that’s still up each day….that’s saying a lot in this market… it’s really the one only I’m even considering playing …I hope it keeps goin…still up only a $1 so a betting person might expect 20-40 cents of downside here…not enough cuz a reversal isn’t even guaranteed here…beginning to understand yet? I need stocks up many $s/share, then I aim for small reversals.

CHCI big bad predictable drop, couldn’t find any shares to short, sadly.

CRDC up big on approval news, then fade, then bounce…ballsy traders short into morning strength, buy dips, but that’s not me…I like nice gradual action, which usually occurs on 2nd and 3rd day of runup

COIN still bouncing around, it’s choppy/messy, as PennyStocking DVD students know, that chart pattern isn’t my bag

TGIC shorting into the market close on the first down day wins again, no matter my stupid “it’s a financial play” rules. Of course, it helps that financial got wrecked on tons of news…I stand by my rules.

PCYC down 0.55 and 19% and cruising, didn't raise as high as you wanted it to, but hopefully some were able to short.

pure genius, BUT those 20-40 cent downside gains would be fairly lucrative if you're trading a large quantity of shares at a time. but you don't, so my question is, on average how much of your funds do you use per position? or does it depend on how juicy the potential drop is?
  • i know no one cares, but LEH is moving up =)
  • % depends on strength of pattern, my account size....dont even fucken mention LEH, go gmble somewhere else...wait for my next post
  • HopeSolo
LEH is moving up because it announced it's selling it's investment management division? Hahaha. Yeah, it'll lose those gains by midday.
  • Reaper
Nice 15 cent drop in PCYC right as you posted this. Coincidence? I think not.
  • HopeSolo
Reaper: 15 cent? It's dropped 50 cents, nearly 19% since open and has been holding there for the past 30-40 minutes.
  • total_keops
Covered PCYC 2.45. Way too soon! From 2.79, 2.72 and 2.62.

Hey Tim, Can I expect to see you at the Trader Monthly Top 30 under 30 party tonight?

WMAR, West Marine. pumped from $4 to $6, starting to break down.
I check their fundies, annual reports and such, they’re operating with heavy debtloads and had a horrible 2007, with little confidence given from execs. check the chart long term, huge stair-stepping downtrend, tons of bitter shareholders.

shares should be readily available, i’m midway to switching from schwab to TOS, and I was still able to short without reserving. Feedback appreciated

WMAR isn't breaking down. It's consolidating.
