My 2nd Consecutive TIMalert To Make 30% In 1 Day: Short Selling U.S. Shipping Partners L.P. (USS)

My latest TIMalert to short 1,500 shares of USS at $4.61 today, comes just one week after a similarly perfect 30% call on MKTY and is a perfect example of the themes I’ve been blogging about for several months:
-these piece of crap companies can spike based on pathetic speculation and collapse just as quickly due to all the bitter longterm shareholders being scared/abused for so long
-gotta reserve shares to short early–TIMalert subscribers get my daily watchlist, filled with all my potential shorts, at 8am by email and on the subscribers-only website (click HERE to see my perfect TIMalerts track record) so it’s no surprise your poor/cheap folk reading this free website couldn’t find shares…welcome to my biz model bitches!
-the reversals are extremely predictable–as I’ve telegraphed a potential short the past 2 days in my premarket watchlists and as you see in this TIMalert that I sent out, I pretty much nailed the price action an hour before it happened–this was sent out at 1:20PM EST to TIMalert subscribers:
Shorted 1500 USS at $4.61…as i wrote in my premarket watchlists the past 2 days, USS was on my watchlist for a potential short, given the stock has a solid longterm downtrend, recent sideways action and fading volume, i think bitter shareholders take this spike to reduce their positions and i know lots of other short sellers are watching this for a quick breakdown too…key breakodwn level today appears to be the 4.60 area as its held several times and considering its still solidly up on the day, i’m taking a chance here, especially since this company benefits from lower oil prices…but i’m willing to add on the way up if need be as this is only a 2/3rd position…not sure if its real but somebody posted on the message boards, the NYSe asked the company for info and they said no comment so there is risk of news coming out too….given this company’s failings, chances are news is negative…so thats the good and bad, lets see how this pattern plays out, risk is it surges past previous high of $5, but if it takes out $4, it’s got no support until the low $3s…i basically just wanna cover in the low $4s in the next 1-2 days
-the key is waiting for fading action after sideways action–stock held $4.60 all morning, perfect afternoon fade/collapse after it broke
-I suck at trading–I covered this at $4.05 for a solid, if not spectacular, 12% gain inside of an hour, now it’s at $3.25, which coulda woulda shoulda been a 30% gain–the latest reason why my 87% return in the past 9 months now on TIM truly is worst case scenario

Tim’s estimation of my profit is wrong. About $8k, because I lost $2k yesterday on an accidental short of USS.
Still short 4200 shares USS at an average price of $3.85.
Here are my realized trades for the day:

Profit: $4,852.77 20.78%
Loss from accidental short yesterday: -$2176.25
Net realized profit so far: $2676.52
exactly $10k without a bonehead mistake…i even blogged about making that mistake so there’s no way u can pin that one on me :)
and even though i mistimed it, its still my biggest gain this month, and davey mistimed it much worse!!!! eheheheheh
I should add that the above were weighted average fill prices. When trading 1% of a stock’s daily volumes you gotta leg in and out and you get crappy fills. I shorted 350 on the Timalert $4.61, 2k or so when the stock went red on the day, and about 7k when USS broke $4.
Tim — your goal is to teach traders. Therefore, your students’ performance including boneheaded mistakes is what matters. But still, $8k will pay the rent for a month or so. ;)

Timmay - you blogged about it and did it a couple times yourself before you stopped making that mistake. Anyway, in 12 months when I’m up $100k, the whole point will be moot.
Don’t know if you have ToS but their trading desk opens at 5amest/6amcst.
I had a GTC short order working from yesterday and was told thats how i can keep the shares but the broker this morning said i can’t do that with hard to borrow. so i don’t know what would have happened if I didn’t try to double my position this morning and tried to get the order filled.
Yeah and we can make fun of you about it again then too. :)
tim did you buy before the market close and gap up on USS? I know a day traders life is filled with regret since as the unpredicatable past becomes the obvious future on a daily basis, but why didn’t you wait for this one to tank?

I use fibonacci retracement levels, RSI and follow the always present price patterns. I keep it simple and it works for me! :)

Mike 13th — yeah, you know my identity now. I switched to Reaper here so not everyone would no what I was up to. Tim ruined that. But I like the nick so I’ll stick with it. If anything, I’d say I’m the opposite of you. I have been profitably short selling long before I knew about Tim, but he has taught me how to do short-term trading. I do try to show up in GOTS chat, but I try to be quiet.

Congratulations on winning big today! You mentioned cut your loss quick and let the winner run, but you covered all 1500 at once? You could have covered 1000 shares and let 500 stay to make more. That’s what I did. I covered half at 4.06, let other half run to make bigger. Will short more tomorrow, upon favorable condition. Anyway, it was (will for more tomorrow:) a great return.

HA! So true, Johnny! The sad thing is she probably made Timmay treat her to an $853 dinner date tonight after she saw what he made for the day. I hope Tim’s reason for selling USS too early wasn’t because she was yapping in his ear to change his Facebook relationship status instead of watching the chart. Sounds like we may need to get Timmay listening to Tom Leykis and following the dating 101 rules. Tim’s a disciplined investor, but now needs to learn how to be a disciplined dater. It’s not too different from PennyStocking! Tim, please read this site and start listening to Leykis if he’s on the air in NYC or read the tenetsofleykis dotcom.

Tim, thanks for responding to my request for advice after my idiotic loss the other day. I am going to take your advice…take some time off from trading and then there are always opportunities out there. When I come back I am going to join your Tim Alerts. I respect you for the fact that you gave me advice without even pushing or mentioning your Tim Alerts. By the way that is a deal at $30, I spend more than that on a few drinks at happy hour.
