12 Stocks I Might Day Trade, Remember To Watch Out For Friday Short Squeezes

Nothing great to short in pump and dump land, nor any breakouts, it’s tough when the market’s this bad, don’t force trades, scalpers have fun working your asses off, I probly won’t trade, making the SEC day trading rule happy, but here are some to watch…remember to tune into LiveStock today from 1-2PM

GNAU announced some blah blah fuel cell crap, a little late to the game, but they were smart in getting lots of spammers on their side…all the usual scumbag suspects, reserve share to short as this is gonna plummet, only question is when

MNLU is the only spammer of the bunch I featured yesterday to keep going higher, pathetic! You spammers need to do a better job, seriously, this is kinda sad…I’ll only buy MNLU if it takes out its previous high, not one cent lower

ZYXI squeezed the ignorant shorts who think these plays don’t bounce…now near its previous highs, doubt it’ll break this time, possible double top, probable choppy action…I’ll wait to buy on a clean breakout—yes, I still believe it to be an utter piece of crap, but I do respect their press/manipulation, gotta hand it to these artists

UBHI had a “wow” drop…so much for gradual rises, this could happen to any of these stocks at any time, manipulator takes the day off and you see the real price action—it ain’t pretty, I couldn’t find any shares to short, could you?

WRSP is one I totally missed, I apologize, I can only do so much, especially from Burger King, but that’s the kind of chart pattern I look to short

MKTY is now $1+ since my cover for 15% profits…there is sooooo much room for error in shorting these turds, it’s rather beautiful…I don’t know and I don’t care what it does now, pattern isn’t predictable now

UCBH collapse is why I don’t trust gradual rises into longterm downtrending charts, all the hypsters exit those who believe their own crap get crushed…nows its an earnings play, blehh too late for me either way

ZILG had the “positive” strategic alternatives” PR, failing company throwing in the towel, real assets means they’ll sell, don’t short

AN had a strong volume earnings breakout, stock went straight up at the open, means its deserved, don’t short…yet

ACEL had positive drug news rally continuation, stock down a lot, tough/risky to short down here, I wouldn’t

TRMP is just about one of the worst business guys around, his hair and his ties suck, but his suckiness draws in shorts, he can always do deals just to boost his ego, I want it to go up more before shorting, reserve shares though just in case today’s the day the hairpiece comes off

    Question for anyone that has the answer. I just tried to short a stock and it said I could not put a short order in under $3.00. How do I go around that? I have tradeking.

    you'd have to talk to one of their brokers directly or get a new online broker. Try ToS

    Others were posting that limit also on other brokers -- sounds like each broker has their own different restrictions. I haven't tried to short any under $3 yet so no idea what the restrictions are for me -- I have a customer service request in to find out.

  • Ditto on scottrade w/ ZYXI... had bid in at 3.5 that didn't get taken when the ask was still 3.46

    same with me...asking was still 3.44 and my limit was at 3.48 for 1500 shares..it doesnt make sence

    Tim, I got 500 shares shor on ubhi yesterday, pulled $ 300 bucks in profit (shorted at 3.65 and covered this morning at 3.09)

    MNLU looks like a rain drop, that thing is gonna tank any moment, but no shares arouuunnddd !!!!! This wimp doesn't have the energy to break its high, therefore it will die fast. However, if I would have been able to get some shares to short, I would have put a tight stop over resistance.

    ICALLB the answer to both of your questions is that your broker (tradeking) sucks for shorting.

    Get a Think or Swim account, and if you have more than 10k, split it with an Interactive Brokers account.

    WRSP i got easy borrows there today,instant fill,few of my friends tried it on other brokers,nope,nope

    BLUS too from 1.88 when couldnt break 2 yest.

    Mike, I think I love you, shorted IFC at 4.37 and covered 1.5 minutes later at 4.27. $80 profits in minute and a half, could have been $ 150 if I had closed at 4.22 but jumped back quick, thats why I covered. wow

    I had the exact same problem when ZYXI broke out back on July 18th! I had a limit order waaaay above the ask, and the fooking trade did not get executed. I missed out on a 10% gain that day.

    Yes. It was a clean breakout on all time frames on super above average volume.

    Volume today is already at 373K, exceeding yesterday's volume of 342K shares. Today, we also took out the previous high resistance of 3.44.

    On the weekly chart the uptrend is still in place from a massive cup and handle bottom. On the daily chart we broke out of a bull flag. On the 15 and 60 min charts we broke out of a textbook cup and handle.

    Currently at 3.73, up 13.03% from yesterday's close.

    Shorts of ZYXI must really be squealing now as the stock is currently at a 52 week high with no resistance in sight.

    Longshort, they say they don't allow to short stock under $ 3. Some gray area around there (have shorted at 2.80 in the past).

    SHorted EPCT on my IB account, no prob.

    Great to have 2 good brokers.

    I just signed up for the monthly TimAlerts. However, I received confirmation from Paypal, but not from TimAlerts directly. So, at this point, I have no idea how to access the members only site. (don't know what the URL is either) Also, I need to have alerts sent to two email addresses, one personal and one business. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to edit my email preferences.   • I've bought plenty of otcbbs before but this one was extreme. I was watching bids much less (relatively) than mine get taken out left and right for a few minutes and my order never went through... this on a day with good volume.
  • Whatever though, just a missed opportunity... plenty of more in the future. Just irritated me.
