Just put ‘em all in a watchlist and watch ‘em…some will go nowhere, some will spike, some will drop…aim small, miss small, learn to understand the setups that lead to the biggest drops:
GETG had a nice reversal—thought about shorting into the clo0se, but now that Thinkorswim got strict about the Pattern Day Trader rule, I’m scared to short imperfect setups, kinda of a gift and a curse…no support til $3, definitely reserves shares for possible short
WLGC is a patent play, they typically runup nicely, but only if the volume is there and inevitably come crashing down, reserve shares to short just in case
ARTE whaaaat? Trying to make a cup & handle breakout right into resistance at $2? Wow, this would be pretty amazing, I just can’t believe it, reserve shares just in case this breakout attempt fails…hopefully it keeps goin cuz right now potential downside is shit
Ambac Financial Group, Inc. (ABK) is a distressed financial stock, not for me, gotta know what you’re good and not good at & stay disciplined
Radian Group Inc. (RDN) is the same exact thing, tempting, but no thanks…waaaay too new-related, I totally p refer pump and dumps and frauds, at least those guys don’t pretend to be competent
ERII was alerted, traded and written about….good god, this was a nice 15-20%…now, who knows, lots of bitter shareholders, even more people believing it’ll spike again…I just don’t care, I go for that initial pop cuz it’s more predictable. Avoid.
NCEY had that nasty financial filing, it’s dead to me…and probly to the world now…try to reserve shares to short as this could really go under 20 or even 10 cents in the next few weeks
GigaMedia Limited (GIGM) is my #1 potential short today, resistance just under $15, I hope it gets there as then it’d be an easy $1-2 pullback…probly…definitely reserve shares early as it’s on everyone’s radar considering how junkie the company is.
Hemispherx BioPharma, Inc (HEB) had positive FDA news gradual riser throughout the day, actually tempted to go long on this breakout…too late now, hope fofr it to get extended to make it a short
And then there’s a whoooooooooole bunch of stocks that have gotten crushed and people are picking up as rebound plays, all are potential shorts if their rebounds continue/get extended like GIGM seems to be trying to accomplish…reserve shares at will
ALTI—news ain’t shit, frggin fraud, shhhhhh don’t tell the believers
TSTR—please get close to bigtime resistance at $4!
NURO—duhhh, look at me, I’m a failing biotech, duhhhhhh
CALP—haha nice spike attempt you lil bitch
NKTR—another NURO, c’mon, keep the dead cat bounce up
LEE—down more, spike less, means it can’t even bottom, maybe I’ll be aggressive with this one
ABAT & VLNC—battery BSers in freefall, trying to make one last charge..hehehe…shutup Sykes
EXEL—gonna be a nice short, c’mon just 1-2 more days of laughable spiking attempts!
DAN—up on an ANALyst comments, need I say more?
IMMR—immerse yourself in this horrific chart
DXCM—last and least

Kevin…I am trying to flip my $600 rebate check the fastest way possible…with garbage stocks that can double within minutes. So far I am up around 47%…not too bad. Really risky but thats why I set stops on just about everything.
fantom, i’d watch shorting airlines. there downward trends have flattened. possible long term breakouts in the long direction.
UF you can get margin accounts to short with as little as $2k…I’ve done it myself when I started.

Not very happy with myself for selling at loss yesterday with GETG, but i wasn’t comfortable holding that thing overnight… Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.

Vo…I use Zecco…they have always allowed me to use stops on pennies. I have one right now on INBG at .0030…otherwise you will get burned unless you are glued to the screen.

They’ll never get rid of the SEC the industry is currupt enough as it is. Just imagine how many shit heads would screw people over if they didn’t have anyone to answer to.
I do agree that the SEC should back off the individual traders and quit hindering the ability for people in the industry to be more transparent.

I was actually long in PEIX about a month ago for a couple weeks and lost my shirt. After the corn report came in I couldnt figure out why all its peers were gaining consistently yet PEIX was stagnant. I guess its gonna catch up now.
Actually now that i think about it, I still have some July option contracts open on it… here’s hoping.
i got in on PEIX at 1.81…its looks to blast…lets go!!!
Has the market been complete shite for anyone else the last week? Erratic as hell. Gotta keep from trading when I’m not finding ideal setups…will just stick to the monopoly account - wallstreetsurvivor - been overtrading it, forgeting to close trades out… lots of mistakes, recently got screwed from BRLC position going from over .50 to nearly 0 (Chapter 11 filing - UGHH)…that one would have killed me if I hadn’t been smart enough to make that risky shite a small position. Still, trading profitably and ranked 200ish/18000ish…

Question for anyone with an answer.I’m new to shorting ive been trading for a few years but always long so this shorting is new to me.
I just opened an account with tradeking and I have tried to short a few of these stocks listed and it says the same thing on all. It says “The security you have selected is not marginable and cannot be Sold Short.”
I appreciate any and all answers.

I was looking at your list of potential plays today and you list WLGC as a potential short. If you pull up the 6 month chart, isn’t the stock potentially breaking out at 1.90 from the previous resistant around late Feb? Which means that its a potential buy? I’m just trying to understand and learn more your thoughts and ideas. Thanks! Any comments from anyone would help =)
