How I Predicted a 15% Stock Spike, Screwed It Up A Bit & Made TIMalert Subscribers $10,000+

When I sent out a buy alert on CNEH to TIMalert subscribers at 3:30PM last Friday—after personally buying 1,500 shares at $4.60—I told everyone “I fully expect $5+” because as I wrote in THIS post over the weekend, it really was the most perfect setup, technically and fundamentally, I’ve seen this year. No matter that TMK labeled me a pumper (and then changed his blog post later once I was proven right, LOL kids…especially those who are too afraid to show their trades openly on Covestor…yeah I said it) and several people questioned whether the company was paying me for such a glowing review, I called it like I saw it (just like I always do) and as the stock gapped higher and spiked Monday morning all the way to $5.40ish before 11AM—that’s a 17% gain for you kids keeping track at home—I felt pride mixed in with some regret.
The regret was due to me being a lil bitch—even more than TMK—for having sold within minutes of the market open, at $4.88 for a predictable $400 profit, not because the stock was showing any signs of weakness (that didn’t happen until $4.99), but because I was so determined to close out the month/quarter over $20,000, which I did, now at $20,272, up 14% for June, 17% on the quarter and 63% since November 2007 (how you like me now you sissy value investors?)
What can I say; petty human milestones mixed in with me not being comfortable buying/holding breakouts. Did the same thing with previous perfect TIMalert pick TGC, sold it for a quick 5% gain, stock went up another 20% the next morning! Everyone knows I much prefer shorting…
The good news is, as I’m gonna repeat time and again, my shortcomings mean little to your trading. Since I’m honest about them, you know that if I exit a stock, it’s me playing it safe, being a wus, whatever—it’s worst-case/safe way to play it scenario so adjust to suit your personality. Infinitely more importantly, this proves yet again I know how to spot these big movers so I’ll just continue picking ‘em and you guys take it from there.
Oh yeah, the pride part, here’s a list of all this pick’s winners:
Mitil: CNEH…bought at 4.98 sold at 5.40 made about $630…thanks tim
BJPN has made about $800
Dave Roberts made a quick $200 before going to work!
PCola is now 2 for 2 going in with me on TIMalerts ($ amount?)
Lmsmith made $300
Dude75 made $250ish
Wes even made $50 on 100 shares!
Reaper made $1,315
GT4 made at least 60 cents/share ($ amount?)
GetShorty made $150
Adam made $450, and $785 in June! Jew yahhhhhhhhhh
and last but certainly not least Mike banked $2,500 on CNEH
All told $7,300 in gains posted by people, several thousand more emailed to me—putting the profit figure over $10,000—and probly much more from people who don’t want me to know how much my picks have made them! Any way you slice it, ‘twas a good pick for all involved.

I bought 1500 shares at 4.65 soon as i got the alert and sold at 5.25 made $900
CMG is ready to go bye bye. Great option play. It breaches 80 this stock has no support till 65 levels from May 07. Very bloated stock in this economy. Restaurant stock with a P/E of 35 in this market. I don’t think so.
The whole market is getting hammered today—
+$51.06 after commission for my ultra tiny account.

Tim, I only threw $3K into TOS to start, (but as I told you before am moving a bunch more there in the next few days), and there was actually someone at my desk when you sent the CNEH alert out, so I only bought $1000 worth of that instead of trying to figure out exactly how much buying power I had at the time. So I made about $100 on CNEH and am currently up ~$220 on my HYHY short (which I plan on holding for a while since I wouldn’t be able to reshort it later).
So about $320 or just over 10%. Nothing very exciting, sorry.

brent I’ve heard of Geoffry Eiten, he does hard mailers and last i knew he worked at OTCFN.com, they usually do a pretty good job, i’ve made some money on a few of their plays in the past; kind of hit or miss

The chart on HTOG was showing momentum on yesterdays close, broke resistance at .008 this morning with a nice pull back and its history from there
Had to buy TGC 1000 @ 2.90. looks like closing HOD after consolidating all day
TGC- going past 3.00- ohh well sold my shares and missed the bus on this one

Watched it allday Imsmith didnt want to get in this morning and be forced out for a daytrade so waited till now. We finished very nicely and would expect gap open in morning.

Ya, I got stopped out at 5.60. 5.50 held up like concrete. QBIK acted well into the close. Lots of buying the last 10 minutes. I think tomorrow is the big day for QBIK. GNTA was on my watchlist but forgot all about it. Looking similar to NCEY on the charts.

That TMK kid changes his blog posts all the time. He’ll post something, then once proven wrong, he’ll go back and change his posts so people won’t see his idiotic mistakes. Won’t sign up for Co Vestor and only makes posts with his trades at the end of the day and surprise surprise, somehow, always buys at the low and sells at the high. Fishy to say the least.

63% gain since last November is pretty decent, and the setup you called on CNEH was excellent.
As an investor in CNEH since October 2007 who added more shares as the stock moved downwards throughout the winter, I am happy to say that simply holding and adding to my position in this stock has netted me a 100% gain.
BTW, I got into it based on a value driven assesment of the company, rather then strictly momo driven.
Hope you’re right about the gap up on TGC tomorrow morning, Keith. I believe it will happen based on the end of day action. Got in @ $3.00 a/h myself. New to the site by the by.

Well said Tim. TMK seeks to prove that he can turn $8,500 into $50,000 in 3 months, so get out of here with that “I have nothing to prove” BS. I stopped reading his blog for its lack of transparency. Anybody can set up a blog, post trade results after the fact, and look like a stock market genius.
And if you can turn $8,500 into $50,000 in 3 months, why are you going back to $8,500 to prove that you can do it again? Why not turn $50,000 into $1,000,000???
TMK has “joked” in his comments before that he doesn’t post some of his bad trades. Also, when he posts his usual enormous profits, I’ve caught incorrect math on more than one occasion based on his own buy and sell prices. So it’s pretty clear to me that there’s some serious number fudging going on.
Anyone ever watch Tim’s old interview with Neil Cavuto on you tube wow what an ignoranus. I’m not talking about Neil either.
