Manipulation Monday: A Dozen Stocks To Watch, Some Breakouts Look Interesting

Posted by timothysykes on Mon 16th of Jun, 2008 09:23:28 AM

A dozen stocks I’m watching, again, no Supernovas, nothing ideal, just watching and preying:

BPAX female Viagra maker had a solid multi-month breakout that caught some long-term shorts by surprise, lots of overhead resistance around $6 means that even though it’s a breakouts, its gonna be choppy waters…aggressive traders can short into morning spikes, but scalps are tough as they tend to run further than you think possible…reserve shares just in case

LAB up on NYSE rules, big continuation rally possibly but not probable

PGOG spammer play big drop on Friday, normally would the beginning of the end, but lately these plays just keep comin’…reserve shares just in case

ASFI receivable play comeback, who knows with this sketchy industry

HDLM 30 cents to $2 now…when it ends, who cares, its gradual, I want vertical!

HPOL is vertical, but its only up 50 cents in2 days…I want more!

LBAS is one you always gotta keep an eye on, if you have balls/guts, maybe even buy it cuz it’s probly gonna pull an MXFD even though both companies are total scams (You Can’t Handle The Pump!)

QBIK Perfect perfect breakout better than the breakouts in HUSA and GTE (this one is up big premarket), still watching all, considering how much this has already risen, not sure how much further it can go, hopefully it gets really extended like it did once before so I can the short side rather than just the long!

BQI picture perfect breakout Friday, as I covered on LiveStock, good things often start small

HYHY first down day, although not sure if it’s the beginning of the end or just a brief consolidation point…reserve shares to short just in case

SQNM just keeps going and proves why real companies don’t act as predictable as frauds and fluff

SNT is the latest Superman pick, surging because of that, volume so light though, and the chart is a breakout, even if it a fluff breakout, not really interested

  1. Nevermind, JADE is an earnings play.

  2. Nice scans - good ones to reserve on… BPAX I like as well, I wanted to see it test $6 and fail before I jump in but doesn’t appear to have much momentum today

    a few on watch http://www.investorslive.com/blog

SQNM consolodated and back to the $15 level

Still holding my borrowed MYEC. I’d like to wait it out until it loses $3

  3. Thanks Tim, like your call on BQI, I got in @ $5.03 & think the stock has good legs.

  4. CPBRU wacky price spread, shit for volume, WTF is up with that?

  5. sniper why u even looking at that?

  6. In LEH a little early @ 26.01

  7. java in 11.81 out 11.62, missed the big breakdown. Still profit

  8. because of the spread, keeps popping out. right now I wouldn’t buy it even with your money !!!

  9. hehehehehehe quick $140 profit on SIRI scalp, that was too easy

  10. CNR up on volume

  11. good “snip”…sniper6

  12. QBIK, nice even number for resistance. Will it run if it breaks $4? Will it tank if it can’t??

  13. scalps are bad…qbik isnt even close to being a short as it just became a confirmed breakout

  14. 14

Tim, on JADE, since theirs so much red on the daily, regardless of the earnings play (still 2 weeks away from reporting), you think this is a good spot to short?

  15. does clicking the link to mike’s watchlist not work for anyone else? uhhhhhhh

  16. I don’t know if I did correct or not, bought BQI when you mentioned on your Marathoon on Friday at $5.19 and sold today at $5.65 just now. But there was a gain of $460 gain on 1000 shares.

  17. yes tim it is giving error

  18. What is Mike’s link, Tim? Can you post it here? I missed it.

  19. It’s in the post, but the link is broken. www.greenonthescreen.blogspot.com has it

  20. Still short 400 HYHY from Monday, die damn you die! I had to choose from HYHY or PGOG and chose the slower of the two…or more resilient.

  21. OMNI major breakout.

  22. In BQI last week at 5.19 as well. Out this morning at 5.50, should’ve waited.

  23. LGDI broke resistance

  24. cue the rally, roll camera, and…. action

  25. Mike_13th, when you are watching the HOD list on Scottrade what are you looking for in that list? Are you looking for the stocks that are hitting new 52 week highs or say stocks under $5?

  26. Definitely shoulda waited to unload BQI but no need to be greedy!

  27. SNT - was actually an old pick of mine,,,didnt call it again just watching it for breakout…..read here

    http://super-trades.blogspot.c.....t-snt.html

  28. Hope all got the alert of Friday about ESIC- first day down- today it’s crashing….

  29. this sorc is really getting on my nerve…no matter what happens it goes back to 2.01 and stays there….it is like a spring..

  30. In some HOV at 6.65. Homebuilders starting to spike up.

  31. OMNI good multi day play. Hold for me on 3 month breakout intraday high.

HOV out of it slow mover.

In ROYL at 9.05. ROYL is the play of the day. Should close above 9.50 towards close. Easy 5% day here for this one.

  32. SYMW good alt. energy long play, if your into pennies

  33. btw, that PGOG if someone found shares to short on Friday, your welcome

  34. Shorted ASFI… let see if it going to fall enough

  35. Watched Tim’s DVD over the weekend. Very Informative! Based on his watch list above I reserved 1,000 shares of BQI this morning. Shorted on the break down this morning at $5.71 and just covered at $5.53 for a $180 profit. Still learning the ropes here, but so far off to a pretty good start, thanks Tim!

  36. In LEH again 26.81

  37. no jade is not a short for me…yet

bqi was a good buy, i shoulda woulda coulda bought on the show, ah well

  38. Here’s a question:
When do I know enough to make a play? My prob right now seems to be analysis paralysis. I think a top 5 list would help in researching fundamentals. Like I think I could start my list with (1) Earnings or Fluff (don’t short earnings). It seems to me I should be able to add 2,3,4,& 5 and pretty much know what’s going on w/ a company. Instead I end up digging too deep, doubting & spending all my time researching while the play is passing by…

  39. thats what the dvd teaches, the fact that u must ignore most of these stocks cuz the variables (all of which are explained) arent properly aligned…like today, lots of little scalps, no perfect setups

  40. I believe I understand re: technical. It’s just when I start applying the fundamentals when I lose myself. I go to Yahoo, Google, LiveNews, etc.. and read everything. I’m starting to think it’s a waste of time. Maybe if I knew more what I’m looking for, it’d help. I do have the DVD, btw. With my other stocks, it’s easier, I know/trust the companies. I’m trying to change my way of doing things… Investing vs. trading.

  41. I mean trading vs. investing

  42. 44

Told all u to watch PGOG!!! Lol if i could only short sell right now i’d be a millionaire?? haha

    Money

  43. 45
    dud-like that better -

I’m still doing this on paper, but, I am making monopoly money right now (+$600 today & only using $10,000 of the $100,000). I really should say thanks for that since I would have to attribute it to your info.

  44. 46

Anyone know what is going on with NYNY today?
    I couldn’t find any news/spam.
