Some Decent Stocks To Play, Nothing Great, Suxxxxxxx

Posted by timothysykes on Fri 13th of Jun, 2008 09:40:47 AM

HOKU looks like it could take out $6, major 2 year support…either crack or bounce, either way a good potential trader

STXX was such a perfect short, I hope many of you got in on that, read about my still profitable trade and see why I’m a friggin blogger instead of a fund manager

COIN Everybody—all the pumpers—want this to bounce, it has a bit, but methinks this is a bear flag…but I’m biased cuz I’m still suing the last company their PR guy represented, just ignore me on this one

CHQ getting close to breaking out, it can really run so watch it

BWEN Not my kind of play, but I can’t help but think it’s gonna try to form a W here

GST Never short a first day breakout…you’re only scalping and then you’re a risk-reward loser

SORC is a great 2-day winner, early shorts getting squeezed, adding to their positions

HYHY can’t keep going on spam fumes forever, then again, it hasn’t shown much weakness yet…stocks like this have a tendency to tank hard and fast then rebound—see LAUD so you just gotta watch ‘em

PGOG is still a waiting game to rollover, people with balls are buying, I like my balls, I won’t risk the getting chopped off

  • monkiman
shorted FRBK.... this stock might bounce and could be ouchie ouchie... oh well, Im up for this week, so I can absorb this negative if it bounces
  • trader@MIT
Lehman a buyout target? I hope you're joking.
The integration of Lehman with anyone would be disastrous.
  • codyhof
QBIK hitting 52's on some volume, will probably buy if it looks like it can close above that 3.50 resistance
  • sniper6

HUSA is breaking out recent high of $8.00 today. And also if you pull up a weekly chart you'll see it's breaking out on a 2-year timeframe! Good volume, moving slow and steady. Could be a multi-day breakout.
  • Alex
HUSA has no sellers in sight. Still good risk/reward IMO.
  • Sykeshater1

Oh and BIOF from that same post wasn't shabby either on red,was 4.96 at time of post.
Sits at 3.12 at close today.
There was a bunch of cash to made on that one also.

Look at MYSL chart, was a pump few weeks ago and is now getting that "manip" look, the one where the white candle have no top shadows meaning it has closed at hods the last 7 days, just like LAUD did.
  • Smoke
Check out PGOG. It dropped like a fat whore with her first client. Nice short.
  • Mike_13th,

Very nice call on SOIS and PTEK, and MYSL looks very beautiful as well. Expect to see me in green on the screen's chatroom every morning I love the stock chatter there and looking to contribute.
  • P.S. to all those who are short FRBK, I'm in too so I'm feeling the pain with you guys if you're still short and refuse to cover. I'm starting to get impatient with FRBK, it's taking forever to decline, not as fast of a fall as the typical spammer fraud stocks or insane rises like STXX, oh well, either stay in or take the loss huh?
  • Got some good LONG ideas too, let me know what you guys think: UAUA, NWA, DAL, LCC, AFCE, IMB, XJT, MGI, WM, XIN, ABK, MBI, SCA.
Yes, most of these are real companies influenced by macro-economic news, so if that's not your cup of tea then don't bother. I already took a fat -$1,400 loss in WM so I've learned another harsh lesson about trying to call a bottom so if picking bottoms isn't your thing, then these might not interest you. I like these because they've struck bottom so many times that it's now becoming very improbable that they will continue to strike new bottoms. You can read more of my thoughts on my Covestor.

    Ben_Bien,
LCC I am in right now long, @ $2.70 and $2.51 I tried to catch the falling knife on Thursday, bought in up-ticks just was not up-ticking enough (opps). I bought in for the bounce and could have sold this am for nice profit but, think there is much more.I personally think they will rebound much higher. Even thou they have been trending down for some time. Had up-grade today and seem to be trying find anyway they can to cut costs. Even closing some of their clubs and raising booze prices on the planes from 5 to 7 bucks, Now That SUX. But, then it's not the booze on the planes that is expensive. It's the $200 in the bar waiting for the plane! Ha

UAUA No position at this time but, have been watching. Feel the same as LCC, AMR falls in there also. (If you look at all 3's charts for Thurs and Fri hard to tell apart) Also I have not looked yet, I would bet there is still a fair amount of shorts on all the airlines, so more then likly there would be a squeeze coming soon for an up bounce..

IMB,WM,ABK No position at time. SCA (Very Small position from a mistake months ago). The Financials are in the shitter as if you did not know. Would only play on day trade with news or major volume, long or short. If the market keeps rallying, I think most of these financials will see some upside. FYI some of the big brokers report next week, if their numbers are bad, all these banks are going to hurt.. The tide theory.. If they are good, we may see some Supernovas build for the short side!?!? Now that would get Tim Excited :)

XJT, had position a week ago. I think they will will come off the bottom too. Just sign contract that will keep them flying. I have played them a few times. Very news sensitive and has some nice swings. Price of oil has not messed with them nowhere near as much the majors???? I have been watching this for another short term trade. But don;t know if it is really going to get big bounces since the buy-out offer is off the table as of last week???

Going Long or Short. DO Your Homework,

Good Luck, hope this helps a little.

    I'm back!!

Codyhof, did you buy QBIK? I bought it in the last half hour of trading at $3.64. It's my only position right now. Nothing else looks good. Gotta save the rest of my capital for any good prehits that Mike announces Monday morning.
  • codyhof
Nah Yngvai, i wish i could have but i had to step away from the computer for the last 2 hours of trading and i didnt want to enter the trade unless i was sure it woud close above resistance.

I might add a position monday morning thoug. Good luck it looks like it can run.
  • UFgemini
Any College students here? If so, go to Collegepenystocks.blogspot.com to recommend some atocks under 5 bucks. GO GATORS!!!!
  • Mike_13th
    codyhof,
I remember on earlier post you were looking to short CYPW on red.
Did you and if so where did you locate short shares.
I tried for 2 days and couldn't get them.
Sure hope you did, it was an awesome fall, and right off the magic number .99,couldn't crack $1

    BenBien,
Yeah hang out the in the chat, i know you have good watches with pennystocking knid.
The more good eyes in there the better for all.
  • codyhof
Mike, i never did short that. I had a terrible week where i really only made one trade, way too busy ...i hadn't even looked back at that chart until now!

This next week i will definetly be around though, hopefully another CYPW rears its ugly head.

whatd u guys think of marathon livestock, feedback is appreciated!
  • johnnyvento
    hey Tim,
I know you're busy not giving away your DVD and everything, but can you add a feature where I can track previous posts by username- different people are posting picks and it gets too difficult to go back and sort through everything.

    Love and Kisses,
    JV
  • johnnyvento
I liked the Livestock, but it was funny that you kept complaining about no plays, you should have stayed in greenonthescreen some more several people found some good ones. So my 2 improvements would be more chatroom following to call out good plays in real time, and more hot girls.

Not your fault, but I found out from you that Russert died, so it ended on kind of a low point.
  • jv, actually working on an application right now where u're gonna be able to see everyone's picks in 1 place...should be ready in a few weeks, its gonna rock
  • Mike_13th
    UFgemini,

If you're gonna put up your blog at least get the link right.
    Penny has 2 N's.

You're challenge, is it open to anybody.
If so,is there a prize if they beat you?
