Welcome To LiveStock, The First Truly Interactive Financial Show, Whatcha Think?
Posted by timothysykes on Sat 24th of May, 2008 02:17:53 PMYesterday, as many of you were either banking or losing, depending on your skill, on the glorious volatility of PennyStocking plays SINO, MXC, FPP, PDO and ROYL (yes they are higher priced, but that don’t mean they ain’t gonna come right back down to where they belong…eventually), I was planning for and filming THIS test episode of LiveStock, the first real-time interactive finance show that will complete my transformation into Cramer 2.0.
A big thank you to those who joined in—this was just a rough draft, but I’ve got the go ahead to make this a weekly…possibly even a daily show…so let’s get it onnnnnn! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out the replay of the show below—it should pop up immediately, but if it doesn’t, you can click the “on demand” button in the video player and you’ll be able to watch the show from the beginning.
Lemme get some feedback, anything you wanna see more or less of? Already interviewing models to co-host, that ain’t even up for debate…
PS The software is from an awesome little startup called Mogulus…they’re in need of some interns so if you wanna be on the cutting edge of the online video revolution, lemme know and I’ll put you in touch
PPS Their badass video player is embeddable so any of you bloggers out there, feel free to spread the wealth…next week, I’ll be launching my affiliate program so you can actually get paid to link to my site! Whaaaaat
Now you can Twitter any questions/comments to TIMhelp and obviously you can follow TIM on twitter too!

tim- watched the video. it was great. you are in love with thinkorswim so why do you feature etrade on your show? just curious. does thinkorswim have a “level 2″ feature?
When short selling, do you guys set your limit orders higher than the price, if so whats a good window .10-.20?
Tim! Dude! This is FRIGGIN AWESOME-RAD DUDER! I’ve been so busy at work I haven’t had time to read your blog this past week. I come back and now you’ve got LIVE FUCKING TIMTV!!!
I’m streaking the neighborhood… ok I’m back! Tim, you are a revolutionary bro! Still waiting to get my DVD in the mail… will let you know when I do!
PEACE, LOVE AND HAIR GREASE!!!
You have to list a schedule of when you go on air.
Can you do these shows during the weekend? I want to participate, but being the boss, everyone wants to speak to you.
Here’s the first vote for TIMTV ON SATURDAY MORNING!!! NO MORE CARTOONS, I WANT TIMTV!!! =D
Drink?
Tim,
Loved “Live Stock”, great job!
I know you know how/where to find these pumped stock plays but I know most newbies do not.
This is how I find potential companies to do more DD on.
Very simple but it works for me unreal.
This was taught to me by my friend Muddy who I believe you know.
Go over to http://greenonthescreen.blogspot.com/ and on the right are links to “important posts”.
Click on “Former Zero Volume Stocks”.
It brings up this simple scan ( from Stockfetcher ):
stocks where volume is 500 percent above average volume(90)
and price is between .05 and 20
and date offset is 0
All ya gotta do is use the date offset and you will find, IF you do a little work to chart them,a few stocks that traded 0 volume in the very recent past and have gotten huge vol increases in the recent days since this 0 volume.
Imo these are the ones that are being pumped/promoted/manipulated,fluff pr being put out whatever you what to call it that’s what’s happening.
To go from 0 vol to a million+ shares in a day or few days, come’on it’s not rocket science to figure these are the pumps etc.
A great example is with a date offset of 4/22/08.
It brings up VDTI which traded 0 vol only 4 days earlier and 323 shares the day after, it traded 7 MILLION shares on 4/22!!
Coincidence it ran from .36 that day to a hod 1.04 3 days later.
Nope I don’t think so,it’s all in that simple scan.
Coincidence it fell from that 1.04 to .17 2 days later, nope again!( it now sits at .05,what a joke that pos was ).
I truly hope every newbie on this site reads and at least gives this a try,if they are too lazy to chart ‘em and dd ‘em oh well, that’s their fault.
Success is being off the mainstream ( as you have certainly proved )and working for it to at least some degree.
Simple works,try it.
Keep up the great work Tim!
Bubba had to wait to let the vid load, but it worked fine.
You’re quite a screen presence, Tim. You’re right, too, that you’re not as crazy as Cramer. Bubba can’t stand him for more than a few minutes at a time. There’s no need to yell unless you believe people ain’t listening to ya. He yells too much. Bubba’s glad you ain’t gonna ‘jew-yaaaahhhh.’ That’d be a dis on them and yourself.
Yeah, you get the models to show more charts (blend the candles into the cleavage, or whatever your imagination dictates that you’ll be able to get away with without becoming a porn broker), go as much in depth as vid time allows (no puns intended) and you’ll have Bubba’s click stats.
Show the newbies some live trading. Tell ‘em what’s going thru your head as you trade. That might even help you become a better trader. You’d be semi-forced to adhere to your rules or explain why you broke ‘em.
You say you got guests lined up? Like who? Names shorters would know? Will you have guests with different views on trading styles? Einhorn’s a shorter. You gonna try to get him in for an interview? Not that he’d say much, probably. Bubba don’t really like the guy, but does respect him for what he believes he has to do. You gonna get Cuban to tell viewers how he spots frauds? He’s associated with a site dedicated to frauds.
And such and so forth.
Entertain the masses and they won’t even realize they’re getting edu’d.
Mike thanks for the tip. I was in the middle of a scan myself. I like when someone actually brings something to the table instead of just posting.
Here’s my contribution; as of this past week these stocks hit 52 week highs.

Fantom,
Thank you.
Speaking of 52 week high scans check out this post by Muddy on his blog regarding on how he uses the 52 week highs with the date offsets to find pullbacks into his zone area and how to find high flag patterns.
http://greenonthescreen.blogsp.....i-use.html
I’m telling you this guy Muddy, just like Tim share and are way ahead of their time( or just off the wall, haha ).
Muddy’s mantra for years has been “go on green” with these low priced ones and it is simple and it works.
I’m up over 100% each month for the last 4 months using his scans/methods.
Praise gotta go out to folks like him and Tim for sharing….FREE
LOVED THE SHOW! Especially the highly interactive nature of it.
Mike thanks we need this network and more newbies like myself. I been in the market for only 14 weeks, in a long position, up 18.89%. Just did my first shorts the other day. 1 out 2 profit. Thats without the scan formula.
Next week I will test their formula. Tim has definitely changed my financial game.
Mike are short or long or both?
I watched the show live as it was happening. I enjoyed it much better this time around. I think watching Chuck interview you was making me nervous about the whole thing.
Having you up there doing whatever it is you do is just the right formula to keep my brain circuitry going.I enjoyed watching the show very much.
I wasnt able to get into the chat room for some reason. I tried over and over. Maybe I clicked on the wrong link or something.
I appreciate how you explain things like it was somebodies first time. How to actually reserve a trade, etc. There are many people who may already know the ropes of daytrading, but others are brand new to it.
The approach you are taking with this livestock show is great. I sometimes learn better that way along with reading.
Fantom,
I’m BOTH short and long.
In my latest post on Muddy’s blog I said this about UNCL:
I also checked out UNCL seeing that the volume went from 44k Thursday to 2.5 million Friday!
Only news I could find was a seemingly fluff PR a few days ago and found it’s in the business of student loans.
Kinda a shaky business it seems now with all the loan defaults.
IB has about 100,000 shares available to short.
I’ll be in line.
Disclaimer,if it starts to run Tues I’ll be on that train by going long first, then will try a short later when it does eventually turn red.
The volume Friday says it should be an “in play” stock.
I ride the “hot” in play stocks both ways, often going long if it starts to run on volume spikes and then selling and going the opposite way SHORT on it if it gets going down to negative ( red ).
i love the new livestock!
I’m with scottrade, can’t short anything under $5. I’m setting up a tos account Tues.
Thanks anyway Mike.
Fantom,
Yes I keep the minimum required to keep a Scottrade account,$500,so I can use their scrolling HOD list.
Me, I couldn’t live without that feature.
I can jump on momo’s lightning fast,I’ve even got into big runners BEFORE their intraday news hits the newswire.
I trade with IB,commish is very low plus they have a huge inventory of shorts available, even down to sub pennies.
Good luck with TOS, I’ve heard very good things about them.
Tim…that was so awesome! Your first Livestock was a success…both entertaining and educational to new small time investors like myself! Thanks for explaining Level 2. I am looking forward to more Livestock. Congrats on taking it to another level!
Hi Tim.. I think you are on to something.. If you are going interactive w/ this Mogulus player you should play w/ the embed code and make the chat feature load below the player :)
i didnt catch it live, however this is genius
Hi All,
LiveStock now has a social network where you can watch the show, chat, and even host your own blog!
