Timmayyy’s 20 Totally Tubular Tickers To Trade Through Thinkorswim Today To Thursday
LGDI
Still on watch for a break under $4, gonna be tough to do from here, today at least, actually consolidated well until the last 5 minutes…still wouldn’t be surprised to see a big 50 cent-$1 upwards spike or at least that’s what I be praying for, oh yah man!
VRML
Mistake of the millennium yesterday, still gonna be volatile
ASIA
Now that’s a breakout…PennyStocking DVD student and upcoming grandmaster Tony Ellis kindly alerted everyone to this and then proceeded to make a quick $1,200 in 3 minutes…That’s right, the DVD preaches that you should these pieces of junk on breakouts, too—just as I did with COIN back a few months ago during a live radio interview
CSIQ
Trying to do the same kind of breakout—doesn’t interest me in the least, would require waaaaay too much precious buying power
SUNV
Finally a stock that doesn’t require much buying power—but it does waste a precious trade, a double jewww yahhhh f$%# you to my friends over at the SEC for that one! Volume’s fading though…gotta crack $1.25 to have any chance
UTVG
Nice Gradual reversal yesterday, I was definitely interested, but nowhere near close to having enough buying power
NCEN
Tryin to breakout of multi-day base…gotta get volume up more
GTE, NGAS and BEXP
Oil plays breaking out, tooooo slow for me
GETC
Damn! When I posted this one yesterday morning, I had little idea, I’d be calling the top, but that is why I have the dark gifttttt
PDO
Right back near its highs again, getting asked about it a lot, here’s what I think: I have no idea! Too much consolidation and too many shorts in it to be a quick reversal, probly a 60% chance of a breakout above $9…odds not high enough for me to get all excited about, but I’m watching
IAR and RHD
Earnings breakout, ignore
CNOA
CEO bys stock, think it’s undervalued, coulda woulda shoulda spent the money on promoters instead of some pissing-into-the-ocean-of-sellers-type act…if I was a shareholder, I’d sue
CNEH
Breaking out of multi-month base—gotta take out $4.50 for true breakout, last time it went from 50 cents to $4.50, so now $4.50 to……that is the question, might try to buy some if I have the buying power and none of the shorts look ideal.
XCO
Great technical breakout above $24, solid intraday risers, too, too bad I have no buying power to waste on such small % moves
SNG
Only the first day runup, poor history of big reversals, usually too gradual and as you saw
on my trades yesterday I use all my capital
SIX and NLS
Wake me when they get volatile—I mean VRML and LGDI volatile cuz that’s what I play! Stop trying to scalp and squeeze in 10-20 cent gains, your risk-reward sucks

Fabulous website, A+++ from my side. I preferred Tim’s statement in blue highlight like in previous website because that was easier for eyes than this yellowish highlight. Tim, how can I add my picture on this little picture icon?
BTW, Tim, too many stocks to watch today…trying to beat Jim Cramer :-)?
This one for Ben_Bien: Did you get out of that ABK yet? It was over $5 something the other day?
4Ben_Bien(TIMBUCKS: $164)

MillionaireMind:
I had ABK at $4.75, then lowered my price-average down to $4.55 but being a scared little girl I sold early at $4.43 and $4.60 and broke even. If I had left my limit order at $4.95 alone, it would’ve been a clean +$700 return over a few days. Another mistake to learn from.

P.S. I’m waiting for ThinkOrSwim to approve my new account application, so once that goes through I’m adapting Tim’s method of shorting. I am also adamant about buying his DVD as soon as I make some gains on a few more plays in my TD Ameritrade account.

Just thought I’d throw out what I have reserved this morning, 4000 SUNV, 3000 UTVG, and 1500 LGDI, I don’t have enough BP to try and get VRML as well, don’t think it spikes hard again but I’ll be watching.

Finally got through to someone at Zecco and they dont let people reserve shares. 10 free trades a month is great if you can actually trade something!

Tim - This new site is sick. This is probably a dumb question, but I just switched from Scottrade to TOS. How do you “reserve shares” which you often talk about.
16wes
May 7th, 2008 at 9:43 am
you have to call to reserve shorts at TOS? cant do it in their platforM?
17RGIlles(TIMBUCKS: $18)
May 7th, 2008 at 9:46 am
No you don’t have to call. Pull up the support/chat window in the TOS platform

May 7th, 2008 at 9:47 am
hi,
how exactly do you “reserve” shorts? do you reserve them and then execute at whatever price you deem worthwhile? i don’t understand how you can reserve them. everytime i try to short something, there are no stocks available (i use zecco).
thanks
19GoodeValue.com(TIMBUCKS: $16)
May 7th, 2008 at 9:49 am
You reserve by pulling up the chat window, asking to borrow, and then asking them to set the sale price higher than the market. If the stock is easy to borrow just short sell above the market. Make sure it is high enough that it doesn’t get executed in a spike (aka, don’t be like Tim).

May 7th, 2008 at 9:50 am
Frank- thats the problem I ran into there as well so i called to reserve share. They informed me that they do not reserve shares to short for anyone.

frank - also in the TOS desktop trading platform in the trade tab when you type in a stocks ticker sysmbol, on the right hand side you have an option for it to tell you if it’s hard to borrow or easy to borrow. that way you’ll know if andvance. i’m not sure if it’s the same way on the TOS web based platform but i think they are similar.

Think or Swim is leaps and bounds better than the other platforms I’ve used (scottrade, etrade, zecco). Just takes a little getting used to as there are tons of options/settings/functions. Thanks for helping me out GoodeValue.

some quick coding to extract my avatar from iChat, but I think I got it.
ready with shares of SUNV and LGDI, no VRML available. TOS tells me I can change the number of shares later, as I would expect. I asked them if I lose the shares if I go from say 1500 to 1000, and he confirmed that was correct.

I’m starting to understand the multiple screen obsession.
Has anyone else out there developed carpal tunnel clicking between multiple level II screens, charts, blogs, research, etc.

Look at the movement with IAR — pretty predictable — easy money
36jj(TIMBUCKS: $76)
May 7th, 2008 at 10:09 am
TOS has level II quotes and you can have multiple chart going on the same screen. the barcast was right, TOS is the best trading platform I’ve ever used!
37Brewster(TIMBUCKS: $14)

Their level II quotes is a joke — nothing compared to other platforms

shorted 1300 VRML at 3.75, a little too early, definitely…but short sellers are gonna be ore aggressive today cuz they know what kind of downside there is

I still prefer Interactive Brokers’ interface to TOS. BTW, trading is so much better with multiple screens. I’m loving my new pair of LG 19″ LCD (non-widescreen) monitors.

whats the strategy on UTVG? Seems like it has fallen alot today early on, should we wait for it to rebound mid-day and short then going into the afternoon fade off?
