Gonna be traveling all day to my U of M speech so considering how good some of these plays are looking, I’m gonna miss out and inevitably get some emails sayin’ I’m a failed trader, but that’s a small price to pay to get the expected 150+ students to think cynically about the financial industry freakshow! Here’s the microcrap landscape…cheers:

PDO just keeps it goin, showing why THIS trade was actually pretty damn good, at least for a short seller—as I preach in PennyStocking, shorting, while ultimately correct considering how shady these companies are, is much tougher, I really want you guys to learn to play these from the long side (something which I could never really master)…as for when to short, don’t stand in it’s way, this is a full fledged Supernova! Just sit back and let all the early shorts kick, scream and ultimately panic cover—that’s when I’ll start looking’ to enter

HDY is another sketchy oil and gas play that puts out exaggerated PRs, spikes and then does nothing…last 7 spikes have all been good short opportunities, their PR firm is Investor Awareness Inc whose business—judging by their other clients—is to take a few thousand dollars/month and do little to nothing offering up excuses like “it’s tough to get any upside in a market like this” and “no microcraps are doing well right now”. Too bad HDY doesn’t hire somebody scummier/more unethical so this stock can actually pumped like it should be!

(Yeah that’s right IAI, your services ain’t worth sh@! unless you create a short suqeeze worth remembering–read my book An American Hedge Fund, maybe you can get some ideas. HDY, save some money, just buy some banners on my site and I’ll pump you up myself! (Oh wait, damnit, I wanna help the suckers, not create more, okay HDY, how about I just get you exposure, bring in the short sellers, then you hire a really shady PR firm, squeeze us short sellers and reap the benefits of a higher stock price, deal?)(PennyStockers don’t fear short squeezes, we cut our losses quickly, so bring it on you boiler rooms!)

PDO - left $1720 on the table so far for being a shot sighted hot air machine that can't recognize sustained momentum in a hot sector if it bites you in your azz - shame shame, shoulda gone long. Enjoy that $20 profit though! For all those that would rather make $20 over $1700, Timmy's your man.

I don't like the idea of shorting Oil, especially before a possible interest rate cut by the fed.

My best guess is that a fed cut will have an inflationary effect on oil. I don't know what it will do to the companies in that sector (PDO), and I don't have to choose a outcome.

If I do anything it will be after the Fed cut, and it will be with the trend.

shorted 500 PDO at 8.48, liking the 15k sell order that just went through, breakdown of sideways price action, big blocks coming in from above, def. early in the game here, but shorts have been squeezed and this is just a small position, willing to add if it goes higher

I bought in at 8.30 on your philosophy that this thing could still go higher. Tempted to sell when it hit 8.80 (shoulda woulda coulda). Started selling off around 8.60 and it started getting harder to get buyers. That's when you posted and I dumped the rest.

The dark gift. That's what made me jump.

covered at $8.18, no0 like the big 5k buy block at 8.15 and bigger blocks at 8, 8.05 and 8.10, solid trade for a profit of $150ish made from the airport terminal! will have a detailed post later

Whether you're trading via software or web client, you are safe on a public networks due to the SSL encryption. DON'T ever use a public terminal unless you know how to check for keystroke loggers, and make sure there are no cameras with a view of the keyboard...

Timmy, way to stroke the ego with a $150 quickie...your argument is pointless with PDO really - yes, stocks with runs will come down eventually, but you just don't risk short side on low float momo stocks in hot sector that DOES have fundamentals to back it up. That is just stupid and terrible advice for your sheep here. A smart trader sees what is going on and jumps on for a ride...then they short after their big game...but noooo, you took your lunch money the other day, and the $150 today, but neglect to point out the fact that you should have swam with the current and made $1700+ on the long, THEN shorted.

There will be ups and downs with this, but its very dangerous to try to time it in out without obvious total collapse of support - I would be riding as long as the drop is less than 15% on a given day - as soon as that happens, then maybe the show is over..in the meantime, a long position when you first started looking at this may turn out to be a $3-5k trade before its all said and done.

THIN THIN THIN...thats the key issue here that says you were wrong from day one to do what you are doing....WAY TOO EARLY.

John, of course I'd love to be able to go long, but if u could read, u'd see in my book AND in the post above, i say my specialty is short selling, thats just the way the cookie crumbles--and i'm gonna teach people to trade whats worked FOR ME. u forget 95% of traders lose $, any of whom lost half or even all their money within a few months--if they follow my strategy, not only would they have a 50% gain in 6 months, they'd probly do better cuz i'm not even that good!

Question: Can somebody force a margin calls across the board on a stock by buying say a few share at say 10X the price in the After Hours?

I say this because I'm trying to understand the logic behind somebody buying 100 shares of EDEN at 2.88 1 minute after the close.

I just wonder what would happen to shorts if 10 shares crossed at like 28 dollars AH?
