Why Bess Levin Is The Only Financial Commentator You Should Ever Listen To

Big Picture Barry Ritholtz likes getting quoted in the press…trust me, I know the feeling, I also went through that phase…but what good does it do? Everything the senile-old-man-esque financial press covers has soooo many variables, sooooo many moving parts, sooooooo many time lags involved and most importantly, can be framed any number of ways. It’s all just one big guessing game where you HAVE NO EDGE WHATSOEVER, so luck and leverage aside, you can NEVER increase your wealth substantially.

You know my take, small investors and traders need to stop worrying about the news/macro/popular issues and learn to profit from more niche-oriented/inefficient hence predictable stuff like PennyStocking! That’s where the big % returns lie–no leverage needed–and if you really want financial gossip, don’t turn to CNBC, just visit Dealbreaker for some Bess Levin commentary…at least she’s funny.

And if you read the comments section of my previous post, I just made a quick and easy 7% return, or $330, on a $5,000 investment in less than 30 minutes. (Add in the $40 monthly bonus Thinkorswim gives me for trading too much (40+ trades/month) and my little TIM trading account now stands at $18,135, up 46% in 5 months in a market that’s down 10%+.

As I’ll detail later today, there was little guesswork/risk involved with that trade, it was NO different than previous successes like REED, VION, COINW, DARA, SHZ…and that’s just in the past month! I simply used my small account size to my advantage. I encourage you to learn to do the same…

    MNKD watching for bottom

  3. Shorts easily available on ORGN not sure if that’s a good thing lol

  4. ORGN worth a look tomorrow morning right now the top is hard to find I thought it was done at 2.10 now its a 2.50 easy to borrow at TOS too…gotta be careful cuz there is news attached here they raised 46 million

  5. Exactly - I put 2 500 lot shorts at 3.99 and 3.50 just so I don’t lose them, who knows

  6. Damn up over 100% today

  7. orgn has meaningful news:

    http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/08......html?.v=3

right back to pre-panic prices…not sure about a big reversal

  8. I short 2.75

  9. Only for a quick quick dime, will watch for 3+ now

  10. I’m not touching that with the news today, if you can scalp it quickly than go for it, but I’ve got the SEC gods watching the number of trades I make…On the watchlist though…seemed like some frenzy buying going on

  11. By the way I see the Alexa ranking going up every week Tim keep it up

  12. These types usually last the day of.. then we’ll see -.50 to 1.00 tomorrow or something ridiculous, it’s definitely one to stock I have 500 left short going to let it play out

  13. Short at $2.64 on ORGN, its MACD is decreasing sharply

  14. nice drop on orgn, wish i had more day trades available

  15. 15
    ViciousChicken -

GBRC- set to fall, only up on a news story on French television…

  16. COT getting close–dont short until it cracks though…PSTI lookin good, godamn these absurd SEC rules preventing me from trading everything!

  17. Great Job breakin’ 18k Timmay!!! I’ve been able to somewhat regain what I ‘missed’ with PSTI- I’ve day traded EJ (doesn’t want to break it’s 13.07 support) and made back about $190 of the potential $400 I missed. Yes, I know it’s not the kind of play you like, but I know this one on a more fundamental level- should be 17 by June for what it’s worth.

Also, I was wondering if you’ve gotten to 18k quicker this time around?

  18. Ditto on ORGN but surprisingly im 100% in right now and each trade I have is following the market nicely. Have had a real slow start to the month but I’m sitting back and holding my trades longer and letting them happen. Congrats on $18,000

  19. shorted 1,000 PSTI at $4.51, didnt wait for the $4.40 or better yet a $4.30 crack, stupid entry, right fully down 10cents/share on my position…no matter…gonna try and hold this for multiple days

  20. PSTI-NO volume and rising, this thing is going to tank….stupid company

  21. Patience TIm. Most of your plays you leave a ton of money on the table. Great for preventing losses, but on some plays if you held you would probably be over 25k right now…trading freely…and generating some big dollars…Make it happen..

  22. big 7k sell blocks on PSTI help comfort me, now the key is taking out $4.50 then $4.40, then $4.30…ideally a panic drop late today or early tomorrow under $4

  23. Tim why do you like PSTI more then NCEN? I would think NCEN would be the ideal supernova cracking on biggest volume its seen. Is there something about it you don’t like?

  24. Congrats on 18K by the way

  25. yeah i’ll tell u why NCEN isnt right for me……………….i can’t find shares to short! read through the comments

  26. Ohhh. My bad.

  27. I called TOS trade desk and was able to borrow shares of PSTI!
