Sykes’ Saturday Seven: April 5th, 2008 Edition

Tags: Funny Links, Link Love, Videos

Gotta love how the press frames news—in this case the Clintons making $100mil+…over 8 years…c’mon it’s not so much, they’ve done a better job than many corporate CEOs who are much richer!

Speaking of failed CEOs, I ripped on former OSTK-CEO-now-turned-madman-to-the-delight-of-many Patrick Byrne in this post, but now he’s out to prove everyone wrong in submitting THIS essay about Jim Cramer. Forget Cramer, is Byrne sane or insane? You be the judge…my vote hasn’t changed.

Say hello to my sponsors, GFT Forex and HotOTC.com… trade currencies or penny stocks, your choice, gotta love the freedom…goddamn I love this country!

Funny site that claims to cure boredom

This video cures boredom visually:

No April Fool’s joke, 3rd graders accused of plotting to murder their teacher….siiiiick

Speaking of murder, gotta love how some rich and powerful hedge fund managers get offered free murders, all they gotta do it authorize them

This cool new site is getting some seriously good reviews. Maybe that’s cuz the site rocks for news…and soon for blogs too!

as i posted a few weeks before, inspectd gives chart patterns a bad name…more varibales involved than just the chart, people who mistake that will lose a lot of $

Got it, searched the site and found what you wrote about it here: “Techcrunch might be right about Inspectd.com being fun and addicting, but it sets a very very very very very very very bad example. The problem lay in the fact that pattern recognition is only part of the game, you also have to understand the variables that align to CREATE those patterns. Comparing a 100% one-week stock price jump based on a positive earnings report—meaningful, further strength likely—is very very very very very very very different from the same kind of jump based on two ANALyst upgrades and a newsletter mention—hype, reversal probable.”

That being said, super novas caused by earnings are random but super novas caused by hypes are not random. If you play anything that looks like a syper nova on Inspectd.com you should make money on average, you’re just forced to take on some random plays.

random plays are the enemy, u should never short BSC run up from $4 to $11, but a spam stock, u should. never short something like BOOM when it goes from 3 to 12 (on earnings), crap company like COIN, u should

Timmy, What’s your take on FRPT?

Chart seems to be on up trend.

How’s FRPT in an uptrend? I’ve wasted my whole day on that damn inspectd. It is pretty much useless but it is addictive.

Tony, what strategy are you using for inspectd? I’m trying a trend following approach, skiipping plays not in a clear trend and buying/shorting the others. I lean towards buys because market went up a lot during this period.

Too bad inspecd doesn’t let people go head to head.
