TIM And TimothySykes.com Traffic Surge 15% In February And Why I’m Living The Good Life

Posted by timothysykes on Mon 3rd of Mar, 2008 04:44:27 PM

To be exact, TIM finished the month up $2,098, or 15.09%, to $16,006. A new record high. Wooo hooo! I’m finally getting the hang of trading like a poor person again. Feels good to be the underdog. Makes me work harder. More importantly, website traffic also surged 15% on the month—every day now there are more than 3,000 people trying to determine if I have any reason to be this cocky or if I’m just full of it. Despite these gains and my now nearly 30% return since November, the jury’s still out. Sure, people are learning, my readers are profiting, transparency is waaaaaay up, but the data sample is still too small to truly draw any conclusions. No doubt website traffic was also helped considerably by this funky fresh new site design, which debuted on February 4th and was designed by the man himself, Pallian.

And just wait ‘til you guys see what we have in store—there’s now 19, yes, literally 19, projects under development for this site, namely TIMtv and TIMradio, so stay tuned…things are gonna get a little locooooooo…

As I mentioned in this post, a 15% monthly return is niiiice, especially when all the major averages are down 3, 4 and 5% (Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq, respectively) and other people, who continue to look down on my strategy without bothering to learn the details, are losing their shirts, but when my account is this small, I can never let up. Not even for an instant. Never underestimate where hard work and determination will take you. If you love what you do, it’s not work, it’s life. The good life. I’m living the good life.

  1. c’mon guys make me proud, who else bought COIN on the breakout around $14.50?

  2. lol…I bought at 13.55 on a 10/60 cross. Then sold at 14.05 after it failed to breakout. Then bought again at 14 on another 10/60 cross. Holding overnight

  3. whats a 10/60 cross?

  4. what you think tim, Coin a break out play or has to prove it to you a little more

  5. 10/60 minute simple moving average lines crossing on intraday 1 minute chart. I know you don’t like technical indicators but this gives a good entry point. Learned it from Muddy and Laura.

  6. cool whatever works!

  7. Did you look at a chart?

  8. People look at AGIX up over 18% today again. I’ve been saying its a buy since .60 and this stock might have a monster day tom. This stock is still way undervalued. 1.50 by the end of the week. Tim I know you are starting to like the chart. Good luck everybody

  9. Tim,

So this morning I bought INTC 500 shares @20.00 and holding overnight because I couldn’t trade today, remember.. I was bored and thought it was a save bet. Well next time I do something dumb just tell me “that was dumb”.

  10. Al, sorry to hear, i think i did say that was dumb/random/poor risk reward. just take the loss and move on, classic case of why i don’t do random trades

  11. Tim,

How did you know COIN was going to break out? The chart didn’t show any indication that it would. Now, I don’t see how anyone could doubt you man.

  12. there was plenty of indication, 14.50 was the clear breakout point–see my next post. dont worry about the doubters, they’ll come around eventually

    Tim,

    Ur traffic….
    from Alexa:
    http://www.alexa.com/data/deta.....ize=Medium
    from compete:
    http://siteanalytics.compete.c.....?metric=uv
    from quantcast:
    http://www.quantcast.com/timothysykes.com

    Compete shows u a solid 10-15k visitors/moth..Alexa/QuantCast have u in the dark.

I see u have Google Analytics on ur site…I would think about adding QuantCast. Alexa always is wrong and their analytics add on sucks. However, QuantCast is used by a lot of advertisers for more lucrative advertising engagements because their analytics show demographic/geo breakdowns that Alexa/Compete do not.

Anyway did Mojo take ur blog down?…I don’t see it. I think ur dead on about the company on Wall Street Warriors…they definitely seem are the reality show version of “Boiler Room”.

Lastly…good luck with the site! My prediction….u’ll get to the 1.65 million faster in net worth of the web site than u will with your investment goal :) Niche sites with people who know what they are talking about are huge assets…from the network of people I talk to the next big thing to come from “social networking” (since sites like wikipedia/digg are all run by a minority) is almost consolidation of these blogs in the uber info/service sites.

  14. Hey guys , checking in -
I had AGIX as a buy on my site last week, made a nice chunk of change! Well Tim just saying hi as you and I are up there on Feed The Bull ; I had www.platinumpicks.blogspot.com - after success , like you, 2 months after starting the blog, I now launched www.dailydaytrades.com and have had 43,000 hits since Feb 19th - join my site free and you get a webpage that you can promote this site and even put up links on your personal webpage to link up to here. Just a thought , maybe we can help each other promote!

  15. Not bad, Tim, not bad at all. Congrats.

    Beanie

P.S. Would you still trade penny stocks if you were to reach your goal of $1.6 million, with that $1.6 million, especially considering the law of diminishing returns?
