On Girls And Choosing The Right Stock Trades
Posted by Timothy Sykes on Tue 8th of Jan, 2008 01:04:05 PMSo, the other night I saw There Will Be Blood for a second time (it’s even better that way—I swear a review is coming) with a girl that stuck out from the crowd; we’ll call her The Coolest Girl in New York, or (TCGNY). Being a pseudo-celebrity, single and a pretty sociable guy, I meet a ton of girls, but like the stocks I trade, most are complete crap. Like (Nasdaq: AKNS), the perfect ones are few and far between. TCGNY is one of them. She is beautiful, smart, and funny and she knows her movies, an extremely rare combination to be sure, but it’s that special feeling I got hanging out with her that makes her different from the others.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting to meet TCGNY at all. Herein lies the beauty of the example and why I make the comparison between TCGNY and AKNS. Remember this: TIM Lesson: The best opportunities stand out far above the rest. Just as when you go out looking for the perfect girl, you’re bound to fail, so too will you fail at trying to find the perfect stock trade, day in and day out. There’s thousands of stocks with trillions of pricing possibilities, but you can’t expect to take advantage of every one of them. If you have patience and wait for them to appear out of the blue, and you profit from just a few of them, you’re waaaay ahead of everyone else – remember 80-90% of traders lose money. This is not an easy profession to master, but it’s worth the effort.
Hopefully I do better with TCGNY than I did with AKNS, I really need to make sure I don’t screw it up – the good news it’s in my hands, just the way I like it. For starters, let’s see what she thinks of this blog post!
