TIM: November 2007 Review
Posted by Timothy Sykes on Fri 30th of Nov, 2007 02:46:13 PMTIM $14,148 (up $84 on the day, up $1,733 or 14% on the month)
A decent debut, especially since S&P 500 dropped 4.4% on the month
Hmmm, thought I was a failed trader—nope! A failed hedge fund manager—yup! If you’ve read my book, you und
erstand the difference. The fact is my trading strategy isn’t very scalable—it’s perfect for individual investors (especially those with smaller accounts), but I don’t suggest you try managing millions of dollars with it (learn from my experiences!) Hence, partly the reason for TIM’s existence—other than the sad but true fact that brutal honesty is a revolutionary business model in the finance world.
TimothySykes.com Monthly Stats:

This month (even though—as you’ll learn—this is a marathon, not a sprint, so this means little in the grand scheme of things) there weren’t as many plays as I would’ve liked and I’m very much disgusted with this Pattern Day Trader Rule, but overall, a solid beginning and perhaps more importantly, people seem to like TIM (surprising, right?)
Here are this month’s top 5 most popular articles:
1. Finance, Fun and the Unbearable Idiocy of Investors
2. IAAPA, Cygnus and the iPhone of Ticketing
3. TIM Portfolio
4. The BIDZ Saga, Better Than the PRXI and The Godfather Sagas
5. TIM: Week 1 Review
I’ve already received a ton of feedback from people who really want to learn about all the risks and rewards associated with trading, but I think this is just the beginning (I’m serious, feel free to ask me any question whatsoever, preferably in the forums). While I’m proud of TimothySykes.com’s growth, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. In late-January 2008, we’re launching a whole new site that’s gonna be much more attractive, interactive, intuitive, addictive, comprehensive, demonstrative, explanative, subscriptive and most importantly, illuminative.
Stay tuned…
